On Wednesday, July the 6th, 2022, the Tanzaite (Water Gargoyle) Hall of Heroes was announced. He’s not bad, but he has brothers that are much more useful, and he can be used as skillups for them.

Anyway, before we begin, Hall of Heroes is a lot like Trial of Ascension, so that means you can use Trial of Ascension strategy and monsters (e.g. attack bar pushbacks, stuns and continuous damage are king). I strongly advise bringing your regular Trial of Ascension team.

Is Tanzaite Good?

…He’s fine, I guess. However, his other brothers have much better passives than he does, and as such Tanzaite works much better as a skillup for those guys (such as the wind variant). That’s pretty much Tanzaite’s only use, being a skillup.

Stage 1

Welcome to Stage 1. We’ve got three Kunites (fire Gargoyles) and two Chasuns (wind Sky Dancers).

The Threat: Does anyone else remember the days when Chasun was nearly unkillable? I do, too. She’s still a good unit, even to this day, but she’s been outshined by other healers who can do her job, but better. However, her Fallen Blossoms s3 is still incredibly unique, and can devastate you if she times it right.

Kunite is… alright, I guess. His passive skill essentially screws over the enemy if they hit him (or his allies) with a multiple-hit attack while he’s a statue, by greatly decreasing the damage they take on an attack with multiple hits.

The Solution: Basically, you’ll want to burst down Chasun first. I hope you brought allies with only one-hit attacks; however, in case you didn’t, it would be best to use them as soon as you can, before Kunite turns into a statue. Chasun’s healing is just totally unfun to deal with, and you’ll want to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Stage 2

Welcome to stage 2. We’ve got three Malites (wind Gargoyles) and two Emmas (water Neostone Agents).

The Threat: Emma is a pretty good unit, in terms of healing. Don’t get me wrong, she’s no Chasun, but she can still put a damper on your plans. Kunite is who you really want to watch out for, though; every time someone hits him in his statue form, he will inflict damage proportionate to his defense, and then decrease his cooltime by one turn.

The Solution: Similar strategies to Stage 1will work just fine in this stage. Go for Emma first, make sure you don’t attack Kunite when he’s in his statue form, rinse and repeat.

Stage 3

It’s time for the miniboss! We have a Poseidon (water Sea Emperors) and two Claras (fire Pierret).

The Threat: The miniboss is definitely going to be our biggest threat. Poseidon is no joke; not only does he have an AoE attack that completely resets all enemies’ attack bar, but it also will not ever land as a glancing hit. Clara isn’t fun to mess with, either, due to her s3 removing buffs from the enemy and being an AoE attack.

The Solution: Luckily, you don’t have to kill Clara to clear the stage. If you just kill Poseidon, you’ll be able to advance onto the next stage. He can be a lot more manageable to deal with if you have someone who can give Immunity (though Clara may be a bit of a problem in that regard).

Stage 4

We’re almost through! We’ve got three Onyxes (dark Gargoyles) and two Mihaels (light Sylphids).

The Threat: The threat here is Onyx, by far. Onyx literally cannot die as long as he is a statue, and Mihael being a healer means that will only enable him. He is such a pain to deal with, you’d better hope that you can kill him before he gets another turn and is able to transform himself into a statue.

The Solution: Go for Mihael first. Although it may sound like a good idea to burst down Onyx while he is still in his Gargoyle body and not a statue, it would be better to go for Mihael. This is because, if you get Onyx down to low HP and he turns into a statue, Mihael may end up healing him and almost completely negating the damage (thus causing the whole cycle to start overa gain).

Stage 5

We’re at the last stage! We’ve got three Phenakas (light Gargoyles) and two Frigates (dark Pirate Captains).

The Threat: The threat here is definitely going to be Phenaka. I haven’t seen a lot of people use him, but Phenaka is really annoying to deal with. Frigate is a really good unit for increasing Attack Bars (I would know – I have one), but Phenaka is really annoying. It’s because, as long as you attack him in a statue, he’ll increase the cooldown of your skills by 2 turns.

The worst part is that it can go over the maximum cooldown count of the skill.

The Solution: The solution here is going to be to go for Phenaka first. It may sound weird, going for him first, but it would be a really good idea to leave Frigate in as a buffer, in case all three Phenakas are left as a statue and the player does not want to attack them.

This is the only main stage where the other units aren’t healers, so players can really leave Frigate alone without too much of an issue.

Stage 6

We’re at the boss now! We’ve got a Tanzaite, but the Gargoyles by his side will always be a different element. In this case, we have a Kunite and a Malite.

The Threat: As always, the threat is going to be different depending on what the other two Gargoyles are. In this case, I would probably say Malite is a big threat, but not as much as Kunite in a statue form. Tanzaite is… fine, I guess. There’s just not really much to talk about regarding his skillset.

The Solution: The solution will always be different, as it depends on who are the other two gargoyles. In this case, though, I would probably say remove Malite from the scene first, maybe take down Kunite if his reduction of damage from multiple hits is giving you problems, and then go for Tanzaite.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many copies of Tanzaite did you all get? I’ve already gotten three copies by now, and I plan on getting some more! In the meantime, though, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, June the 8th, 2022, the Carbine (wind Sniper Mk.I) Hall of Heroes was announced. Carbine isn’t exactly the best unit, but he can do a lot of single target damage. If nothing else, he can be used to skill up his other, better brothers.

Is Carbine Good?

Not particularly. I mean, his s2 and his passive mesh really well together in order to increase his damage on his s1, but apart from that, he is pretty niche of a unit. He would better used as skillups for his other brothers.

Stage 1

Welcome to Stage 1. Here, we have three Covenants (water Sniper Mk.I) and two Celines (wind Rune Blacksmiths).

The Threat: The threat is Covenant. Although Celine has a bit of usability (including some heavy RNG content and making her attack-buffed allies decrease enemy defense and defense-buffed allies decrease enemy attack), it’s Covenant who has all of the damage. Covenant’s s3 will completely ignore the target’s defense, along with his s2

The Solution: The main solution would be to go for Covenant first. Although Celine has a lot of really good buffs and a good way to set up her allies, she can’t really do much if the main damage dealers are dead.

Stage 2

It’s time for stage two! We’ve got two Chillings (water Jack-o-Lanterns) and three Carcanos (fire Sniper Mk.Is).

The Threat: The threat here is probably Chilling. Every time he attacks, he will steal your buffs. This is just a known fact of life, as Chilling’s whole gimmick is about buff stealing – he was a viable choice in the Dragon’s dungeon for a while because of this. Carcano has damage, but his passive is a bit randomized.

The Solution: I think the solution here would be to take down the Carcanos first. Their passive brings defense break, but luckily it’s easy enough to deal with. After that, you can safely take down Chilling and go for it.

Stage 3

It’s miniboss time! We’ve got a Louise (wind Paladin), and two Trevors (fire Neostone Fighters).

The Threat: The threat here is probably Trevor. However, Louise’s heals are seriously not something that you want to deal with. Luckily, she can be pretty easily bursted down by Unrecoverable; even though one of her skills removes harmful effects, it is a single target skill.

The Solution: The solution here is to go straight for Louise. Because she’s the miniboss of the Hall of Heroes, you just have to kill her and not her lackeys to progress. Of course, if Trevor is giving you problems, there is no reason that you shouldn’t kill them first.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway through the Hall of Heroes now! We’ve got three Magnums (light Sniper Mk.Is) and two Koronas (dark Brownie Magicians).

The Threat: The threat here has got to be Magnum. Although Korona can remove the buffs off of enemies – but also debuffs as well – Magnum has extremely high damage, and his passive will increase his attack bar by 25% whenever an enemy gains a buff.

The Solution: I think the solution here is to burst down Magnum first. If you have any units who apply buffs to their team, don’t do it yet, and wait until the Magnums are dead.

Stage 5

We’re almost at the boss! We’ve got three Dragunovs (dark Sniper Mk.Is) and two Tablos (light Dice Magicians).

The Threat: Dragunov stays in his sniper pose if he kills someone (which means that his next attack will deal serious damage), so that’s definitely something that you don’t want to deal with. Tablo, of course, is just super annoying to deal with; his attack bar manipulation is terrible to be on the receiving end of.

The Solution: The solution here is to go for Tablo first. His attack bar manipulation sucks to be on the receiving end of, and he can enable Dragunov to deal even more damage by lapping around your team. Plus, there are only two Tablos to deal with.

Stage 6

Welcome to the final boss! We’ve got a Carbine and two other Snipers (though in Floor 1’s case, it’s a Covenant and a Magnum).

The Threat: The threat here depends on who the other two snipers are. In this case, though, the threat here would probably be either Covenant or Magnum. Carbine isn’t exactly a threat in general, but he can be a bit annoying to deal with.

The Solution: Luckily, all you have to do is burst down the Carbine. As he’s the boss of Floor 6, you don’t have to kill the other enemies. Of course, though, there is nothing that is stopped you from killing the other lackeys if they keep bothering you.

With that said, I hope you all enjoyed this article! How far in did you get into this HoH? I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, May the 11th, 2022, the Amduat (dark Horus) Hall of Heroes was announced. He’s really good, actually; he’s great at cutting in front of enemy teams and completely messing up their turn order.

Is Amduat Good?

Amduat is actually one of the better LD 4 stars in the game! Thanks to his passive that grants him Attack Bar every time an enemy gets a turn, it’s really easy for him to cut in between enemies and completely mess them up. The turn messing is especially useful with Amduat’s S2, which decreases the enemy’s attack bar by 30%.

Although he doesn’t do everything under the sun, he’s still a pretty good option for people who want something to mess around with.

Welcome to Stage 1. To start off our journey, we have three Imeseties (wind Horuses) and two Kakis (fire Onimushas).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Kaki. Does anyone else remember when the Onimushas were first released, Kaki turned out to be really good, he got nerfed in the middle of a Siege battle, and everyone was so upset about it? I remember too. He still does some insane damage, and Imesety makes it so that the additional damage he inflicts proportionate to his defense is way higher.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for Kaki first. Although he can’t land a critical hit on your team, his damage is still a lot to watch out for, and it’s best to deal with him before he can burst down one of your units. After that, Imesety is really easy to deal with.

Stage 2

We’re at Stage 2. We’ve got three Duamutefs (fire Horuses) and two Tanzaites (water Gargoyles).

The Threat: Similarly to Imesety with Kaki, Tanzaite is probably the bigger threat here, when he’s not turned into a statue that is. However, Duamutef can consistently deal more damage, along with buff up the defense of Tanzaite (causing him to deal more damage).

The Solution: I think the solution here is to deal with Duamutef first. Tanzaite, once he’s below 50% HP, will turn into a statue on his next turn. Although in the lower floors, you can easily burst him through and kill him before he gets a turn at that point, it’s just best to get rid of Duamutef first to ensure that he doesn’t make it harder to kill Tanzaite.

Stage 3

We’re already halfway through! The miniboss here is going to be one Nyx (dark Fairy King) and two Tablos (light Dice Magicians).

The Threat: Oh, Nyx is definitely going to be a bit of an annoyance to deal with. I still remember his old passive, and how it was downright useless before his buff. These days, Nyx’s passive is really annoying to deal with; decreasing the chances his allies get harmful effects, while also increasing the duration of harmful effects on all enemies.

Also, Tablo is a pain to deal with, as he completely resets the attack bar of everyone in the battlefield, but also increases the speed of his allies for a turn while also stunning himself. Basically, he’s like the Tiana of the attack bar world.

The Solution: Just aim straight for Nyx, man. Tablo is going to be a pain to deal with, and you don’t have to kill the miniboss’s servants in order to continue. Just burst down Nyx and go before you can get too caught up in this stage.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway through! We have three Qebehsenuef (water Horuses) and two Cordelias (wind Blade Dancers). I will be referring to the Horus as Qebeh here.

The Threat: Yes, that is Qebeh’s actual name, copy and pasted. Anyway, Cordelia is the bigger threat, because she’s fast, and deals damage. A lot of it. Qebeh just buffs up Cordelia to do her job, but that doesn’t mean you should just sit there and let them both live.

The Solution: Kill Cordelia first. Although Qebeh buffs her up, if she’s dead they can’t really do much by themselves. After that, you can safely blast down the three Qebehs and then move on to stage 5.

Stage 5

We’re almost at the boss! We’ve got a Wedjat (light Horus) and two Isabelles (dark Assassin).

The Threat: Did you know that Wedjat is the only LD5 of the entire Horus family? Despite that, his kit… isn’t exactly the best. Isabelle is going to be the bigger threat of the two, due to her high amounts of single target damage and how fast she can refresh her cooldown.

The Solution: Go for Isabelle first, preferably before one of them uses their S3. When anyone on the battlefield dies while her s3 is on cooldown, it will automatically reset and she’ll be able to use it in the next turn. You really don’t want to have to deal with that.

Stage 6

We’re at the boss now! We’ve got an Amduat and two other Horuses; in this case, though, it’s Duamutef and Imesety.

The Threat: The threat here is going to depend on who the other two Horuses are. More likely than not, though, the threat is going to be Amduat, due to the fact that he’s easily one of the best in the family, and all the other Horuses are… situational, at best.

The Solution: The situation actually does stay the same no matter what the lackeys are. Take out Amduat first. I’m not kidding when you say it’ll be so much better than messing around with the other Horuses; considering Amduat gets a turn every time the enemy does, killing him as fast as possible is beneficial in the long run.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many Amduats did you get? In the meantime, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, April the 6th, 2022, the Hekerson (light Poison Master) Hall of Heroes was announced. He’s pretty good, actually; he’s not great, but he’s pretty good.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Hekerson Good?

He’s not the greatest unit in the game, but he’s not terrible, either. He’s better used for skillups than anything else.

Stage 1

Stage 1 will set you off with three Todds (fire Poison Masters) and two Sus (water Rakshasas).

The Threat: Although Todd has a bunch of AoE damage and focuses heavily on Continuous Damage, Su is the one with the highest single-target damage. Her multipliers on her s3 are shockingly large, and the Stun she has is also something that you want to watch out for.

The Solution: Go for Su first. Although Todd has the DoTs to watch out for, it’s Su that will end up taking out a member of your team more often than not. With Todd, you can easily deal with him by bringing in a cleanser beforehand (such as Konamiya or Lulu).

Stage 2

For Stage 2, we have three Kyles (water Poison Masters) and two Malites (wind Gargoyles).

The Threat: The threat here’s definitely gotta be Malite. This is because of his passive, which will ensure that, when he turns into a statue, he’ll inflict damage on anyone who attacks him (proportional to his defense). It also ensures that his skill’s cooltime decreases whenever he’s hit.

Kyle isn’t that bad to deal with, but he’s still not something to scoff at. Kyle will instantly get a turn at the end of his turn if he goes unattacked, while also increasing the damage he deals in this extra turn by 100%. In other words, if you ignore him, it’ll be bad.

The Solution: The solution here is to, of course, make sure to constantly attack Kyle and ensure he can never activate his passive. This is really something that should be paid attention to. Malite is a bit harder to deal with, but with enough battering you’ll get him down. With that, you can move onto Stage 3.

Stage 3

It’s time for the miniboss! We have a Julianne (light Vampire) and two Lanetts (dark Magic Knight).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Julianne. He can be a real pain in the neck to take down; his passive Immortality will remove all harmful effects granted on himself and heal himself by taking 10% of all his allies’ HP – and guess who he has with him; two minibosses.

Lanett has a cool design, but apart from that she’s not really a unit for someone to watch out for. Her s3 can end up doing some very strong damage, though, as it scales against the enemy’s max HP.

The Solution: The solution for most people is going to be to use Julianne’s passive to slowly wear down the Lanetts before taking him out. Julianne isn’t going to steal from allies who have less than 30% HP, and you can use that to your advantage.

…Or, you can just kill both Lanetts and then be done with it.

Stage 4

We’ve got three Jarretts (wind Poison Masters) and two Barettas (fire Poison Masters).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Jarrett. Baretta is still a decent unit that most people use for ToA because of how many DoTs that he can land, but Jarrett not only has DoTs, but damage too. His s3’s damage increases with the more Continuous Damage that is on the enemies he attacks; 50% per DoT, more specifically.

The Solution: The solution here can vary in a few different ways. A player can either choose to burst down all the Jarretts and then only deal with Baretta, or they can take down Baretta and then deal with Jarrett. Personally, I started with Jarrett and then Baretta. Baretta doesn’t increase his damage based on DoTs.

Stage 5

We’re almost at the boss! We’ve got three Caydes (dark Poison Masters) and two Dovas (light Hargs).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Cayde. His passive is actually really strong; he’ll increase the attack bar of all his allies except himself based on how many harmful effects that he has.

Now, that may sound like he’s just shooting himself in the foot, but here’s the thing – Cayde ignores the effect of all debuffs except Oblivion and inability effects. In other words, he’s not affected by Continuous Damage, Defense Break, and so on and so forth.

The Solution: The solution here is to make sure Cayde does not get any debuffs on him. That does include Stuns (although Oblivion works fine, because he feels the effect of it), Sleep and Freeze. Dova is more of a support unit, but he doesn’t cleanse any, so he won’t help you there.

Stage 6

It’s time for the boss! We’ve got a Hekerson and two lackeys – these lackeys are Poison Masters of varying elements.

The Threat: The threat is going to depend on who the lackeys are. For example, I’d probably say Todd is the biggest threat here. However, a Cayde as the lackey would easily be someone the player needs to watch out for, and so on.

The Solution: The solution here is going to also vary, depending on what lackeys Hekerson has. In this case, I’d probably say that stunning Todd is the best solution, before bursting down Hekerson. This is to ensure that Jarrett doesn’t get as much damage in as he could.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many Hekersons did you get? I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, March the 9th, 2022, the Carrack (fire Pirate Captain) Hall of Heroes was announced. Carrack is actually pretty decent, but only in the right kinds of teams; namely, teams that focus heavily around bombs.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Carrack Good?

Depends on what kind of team he’s in. If you can set him up in a way that Carrack can take advantage of his crewmates’ capabilities – specifically setting up and detonating bombs – then he’s really good. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any skills by himself that can place bombs on the enemies, so he relies on his teammates to do the set-up for him.

However, his s3 does work super well – it’ll instantly detonate any bomb effects on his target, reduce the duration time of any bombs on the other enemies by 1 turn, and then instantly grants himself another turn if he set off any bombs.

Stage 1

Welcome to Stage 1. We’ve got three Galleons (water Pirate Captains) and two Argens (wind Vampires).

The Threat: Althoguh Argen has the most damage, Galleon sets him up to cause even more with his s3, which decreases enemy defenses and increases ally weapons. Argen just has a lot of single-target damage to watch out for.

The Solution: Either going for Galleon or Argen first will work well. Galleon-only means they don’t really do a lot of damage, and Argen-only means that they don’t have Galleon’s s3 on their side. Either way, it’s a win-win, and it depends on which one is giving the most trouble.

Stage 2

We’ve got three Barques (wind Pirate Captains) and two Berenices (fire Blade Dancers).

The Threat: I’d say that Barque is the bigger threat here. His s3 is quite literally a combination of his s1 and his s2, meaning that they have the exact same multipliers. It’s like if he did his s1, got an extra turn, and followed it up with his s2. But it’s all in one skill. Berenice, though she has an AoE attack bar increase for you to watch out for, also has some AoE damage, but it’s not nearly as scary as Barque’s damage.

The Solution: Go for Berenice first, so this way she can’t enable Barque to deal more damage. Granted, you’ll still have to watch out for it, but it’s not going to be as bad as if she pops off her s3.

Stage 3

It’s miniboss time! We’ve got one Masha (fire Beast Rider) and two Orions (water Brownie Magicians).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Masha. While Orion is RNG-heavy and can completely screw over your team, Masha has really good speed-based damage and increases her Attack Bar increasing-effects by 50%, while also decreasing Attack Bar decreasing effects by 50%. She also needs to be killed again after the first time, because she dismounted (granted, she’s much squishier now).

The Solution: Just go straight for Masha. There’s no point in killing Orion unless he’s actively making your runs fail, and Masha will let you pass through once you kill her both times.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway through the floor now! We’ve got three Frigates (dark Pirate Captains) and two Illiannas (light Neostone Agents).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Frigate here, for sure. Although Illianna can grant immunity, shields and invincibility (along with some damage, but that’s not the main focus of her kit), Frigate enables her by increasing everyone’s Attack Bar by 50% and decreasing their cooltimes by a turn. I would know, I have one myself.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for both Illiannas first. The Frigates can all pop Full Speed Ahead on themselves, but apart from a random 3-hit attack that can stun they don’t have much else to offer in terms of damage.

Stage 5

We’re almost at the boss stage! We’ve got three Brigs (light Pirate Captains) and two Isabelles (dark Assassins).

The Threat: I’d probably say they’re both something to watch out for, especially because of how good their single-target damage is. They can both end up completely taking out or disabling one of your units, and unless you have a good healer/reviver on backup, you’re going to have a really bad experience.

The Solution: You can work on individually picking the units off as long as you make sure no one else gets a turn. No one really has a “punishes you for taking a turn” skill; all you have to do is keep their Attack Bars below 100% while you deal with them one at a time.

Stage 6

We’re at the boss stage now! We’ve got a Carrack, and two other Pirate Captains.

The Threat: The threat here is going to depend on who’s with Carrack (do note, however, that none of the Pirate Captains can plant bombs on one another, so you’re good on that regard). In this case, Galleon and Frigate are going to set up Carrack, which will cause him to deal more damage.

The Solution: Personally, if this were a harder stage, I would say take out Galleon first, and then go for Frigate. As someone who actually does have Frigate, I can safely say that, while he is good, Galleon greatly increase the amount of damage his teammates do, and Carrack’s s3 multiplier is painful.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! Did you all get your Carracks? Let me know in the comments down below! I’m up to B6 myself before I stopped to write this. In the meantime, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, February the 9th, the Lumirecia (Water Sylphid) Hall of Heroes was announced. Like with the Fuco HoH, this would have been a ground-breaking HoH during the beginning of the game, when Lumirecia was used to solo DB10. These days, though, she’s not in the meta at all.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Lumirecia Good?

Although she is no longer in the meta, Lumirecia is still considered by many to be “pretty good,” as she has a low cooldown on her s3 – which, remember, completely heals and removes all debuffs off her chosen ally. As of now, she also decreases the cooltime of her s3 by a turn if there’s no debuffs on the ally, either.

Overall, most people will use her for skillups for Mihael or Icares, but she can still be alright if the player doesn’t have anyone else for a healer.

Stage 1

The Threat: The threat here is definitely going to be Fria. Due to her passive, if Fria dies, she’ll immediately heal every one of her allies fully and remove their harmful effects. Combine that with the fact there’s three of them… you can see where the problem lies. Cordelia isn’t too bad to deal with, but she’s a scary source of single-target damage, on top of being fast.

The Solution: Kill both Cordelias first. It’s best to get rid of them both before taking on Fria, as the three Frias don’t do a lot of damage (compared to Cordelia, anyway). After that, it’s just time to slowly whittle them down (or kill them if they have Oblivion on).

Stage 2

The Threat: Acasis isn’t too bad to deal with, though she can definitely be annoying if you’re not careful. Her s3 decreases the chances of her allies being hit by a critical hit, along with having a shield that absorbs damage – the shield’s strength is proportional to her level.

Susano, meanwhile, is actually pretty annoying when it comes to trying to kill him. He reduces his chances of being hit by a critical hit by 50%, and his resistance is also increased by 50%. He does good damage, and he’s pretty hard to kill.

The Solution: Go for Susano first. Although he’s hard to kill, Acasis will make it far worse if she gets to use her s3 in time. Acasis herself doesn’t deal much damage, so it’s all up to Susano to deal the damage. Acasis will just be an annoyance once Susano is dead.

Stage 3

The Threat: Both Trevor and Anavel are a threat in some way. Anavel sets up Trevor greatly – her s3 lands defense break on all enemies for 3 turns, her s1 can keep putting her enemies to sleep (enabling her to get so many extra turns), and her s2 not only heals, but removes harmful effects, too. Trevor is more of a generic damage dealer, but he becomes harder to kill the lower his HP goes – along with his damage increasing with lower HP.

The Solution: Since you only need to kill Anavel in order to progress, you could just burst down Anavel and go on ahead. If Trevor’s giving you trouble, though, then you can feel free to kill him and go on.

Stage 4

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Icares – I would know, I’ve used her a bunch of times before with Mo Long. Her S3 deals damage according to 50% of her HP, and gains another turn if the enemy dies. Dova’s a bit scary to deal with, as he’s a very good support unit – his s2 increases the ally’s Attack Bar to the max, and grants all sorts of random buffs to allies with the lowest HP.

The Solution: The solution here is going to be to kill Dova first. Icares is scarier to deal with, due to the sheer damage potential, but Dova enables her with his s2 and passive. After that, you can just aim for Icares and hope she doesn’t use her s3.

Stage 5

The Threat: The biggest threat here has to be Onyx, due to the fact that he cannot be killed when he is in his statue form. After he uses his s2, he’ll turn himself into a statue, and has a 30% chance to turn himself into a statue at the end of the turn. Mihael has some very good healing, but overall Onyx is going to be the most annoying to deal with.

The Solution: The solution is to take out Onyx first. The real smart move is to kill him before he can get a turn – in other words, before he turns into a statue. Like most of the other Sylphids (with the exception of Icares), Mihael isn’t too annoying to deal with on her own.

Stage 6

The Threat: The threat will always be different depending on who the two smaller Sylphids are. In this case, the threat would be Fria, due to her AoE heal at the moment of death. After that would be Acasis, for her shielding, and then Lumirecia, for the chance she can just completely heal herself.

The Solution: I would probably say, in this case, to aim straight for Lumirecia herself. Don’t deal with Fria (you don’t want her to die), and Acasis can be busted easily with buff-blocking debuffs. Lumirecia, though, must die before she can use her s3.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many copies of Lumirecia did you get? Did you find this HoH particularly hard? I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you all in the next article!

On Wednesday, December the 12th, the Fuco (Wind Lich) Hall of Heroes was announced. To be honest, this Hall of Heroes would have been game-breaking during the start of the game, when Fuco used to be one of the strongest units in the game. These days, though, he’s just… there.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Fuco Good?

He used to be, but now it’s really easy to counter him. Basically, every turn he takes, he’ll generate a shield proportionate to his level. This shield resets, but doesn’t sack. Way back when, Fuco used to be downright unkillable because of this shield. These days, shields proportionate to the monster’s level tend to be really squishy, though. So, he’s better off as skillups for his other, better elemental brothers.

Stage 1

There are two types of monsters here – three Rigels (water Liches) and two Acasises (wind Sylphids)

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Rigel. He cannot be slept, stunned or frozen, first things first. After that, he reduces his chances of being hit by a critical hit by 25% and will increase his Attack Bar for every hit that wasn’t landed as a crit (as in, if your 100% Crit Rate DPS hits him and it doesn’t land as a crit due to his passive). Acasis just completely enables him – with her shield and anti-crit, it becomes extremely difficult to land crits on him.

The Solution: I’d say take out Acasis first. With Acasis, it just becomes even harder to burst him down. Rigel is fairly easy if you keep battering at him – even with the attack bar increase, you can probably take him down real easy once Acasis is dead.

Stage 2

Welcome to stage two. We’ve got three Antareses (fire Lich) and two Fedoras (water Death Knights).

The Threat: The threat here is going to be Antares, for sure; he keeps getting chances to take an extra turn, and the longer he goes without one, the higher his chances become. On the support side, Fedora is really annoying to deal with, because he removes all debuffs and grants Endure for a turn. Now, of course, this is a lot better on HoH instead of actually playing with him, so something that’s mildly annoying in other scenarios will break your run in HoH.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for Fedora. Even though Antares is going to go insane if he gets extra turns, that doesn’t mean you should let Fedora be ignored. Endure is surprisingly a really annoying buff to face against if you don’t have a buff stripper – and trust me, you’re really going to want one in this HoH. After Fedora’s dead, you can then safely go for Antares and pray to RNG that he won’t proc four extra turns in a row.

Stage 3

It’s miniboss time! We have a Mephisto (wind Demon) and two Hwahees (fire Sky Dancers).

The Threat: Mephisto has a little quirk – no one can revive when he’s on the battlefield. That means the enemy and the ally side can’t revive. Additionally, when anyone on the battlefield dies, the damage he deals increases by 20% (stacks up to 5 times). Hwahee is going to be annoying to deal with, too – she heals, and her s3 does some pretty high damage.

The Solution: The solution here is going to just… take down Mephisto. Don’t go for either Hwahee, because that will only increase the damage that he deals in the long run, and then you’ll be screwed. Remember – he can’t kill your team if he doesn’t take a turn.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway done with Hall of Heroes now. We’ve got three Halphas (light Liches) and two Bettas (dark Mermaids).

The Threat: Betta isn’t that much of a problem, but Halphas sure is. Halphas, once he drops below 50% HP, will plant Invincibility on himself. When he does that, he’ll start to steal HP from your allies every time they get a turn, and healing himself with it. It’s hell.

The Solution: There’s really only three solutions I can think of for Halphas – debuffs (block buffs/unrecoverable), one-shotting, and buff stripping. If you block buffs on him, he won’t even be able to wear Invincibility; with Unrecoverable, he won’t heal back to above 50% HP. One-shotting him (taking him straight from 100% to 0% in one hit) means he won’t even have a chance to put on Invincibility. And, of course, you can just strip away his Invincibility.

Stage 5

We’re almost done with Hall of Heroes! We have three Gregos (dark Liches) and two Amarnas (light Anubises)

The Threat: Although Grego reduces the healing he takes by 50%, he’s also still quite a bit of a threat. Not only does he decrease the inflicted damage he takes on himself by 50%, but he’ll increase his attack power by 50% anytime someone on the battlefield dies (accumulates up to 5 times). Pair that with Amarna, who can revive everyone on the battlefield, and you kind of have a recipe for disaster.

The Solution: Although Grego will immediately benefit from having Amarna die, it’ll benefit you more in the long run. Because Amarna won’t be able to revive/heal, it’ll be far easier to take down Grego, even with the attack increase when someone on the battlefield dies.

Stage 6

We’re at the boss stage now! We’re always going to have Fuco and two other Liches. In this case, though, the two other Liches are Antares and Rigel.

The Threat: The threat here is Antares; he’s one of the strongest Liches, next to Halphas. Rigel is alright to deal with as long as you don’t start attacking him. Fuco is the weakest of the bunch; his shield can be pretty easily popped (or you can steal it as a buff), and as long as he doesn’t get a turn, he’s just a sitting duck – using units like Loren will make sure of that.

The Solution: The solution will always be different, due to the different lackeys. In this case, though, if you burst down Antares and then work on Fuco, you can get rid of the boss pretty easily. However, someone like Halphas in the next stage would be a bit more difficult to deal with – again, though, that’s only if you let him drop below 50% HP.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many copies of Fuco did you get? I’m on B7 as I write this. With that said, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, December the 8th, the Hyanes (dark Dryad) Hall of Heroes was announced. Many people were surprised at this choice of HoH, because Hyanes is actually pretty decent! She’s not meta-breaking, but she is a lot better than a lot of the HoH units that Com2uS has given out before.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Hyanes Good?

Yes she is! She doesn’t have a spot in the meta as of right now, but she’s not garbage. Her s3 is a bit of a weird in-between skill; it attacks all enemies, increasing their harmful effects’ duration by 1 turn and reducing their beneficial effects’ duration by 1 turn. It opens up a bit of a weird spot for her, where if you’re using her as a debuffer or an opener there’s one part of her s3 that can’t be used.

Stage 1

Welcome to Stage 1. We’ve got three Mellias (wind Dryads) and two Platys (fire Mermaids).

The Threat: I’d probably say that Mellia is the biggest threat here. Her kit is all about Continuous Damage, which can destroy your units if you don’t have a cleanser/Immunity buffer on your team. Platy has intense single-target damage, along with having a heal/revive on her s2. However, if she does revive, she’ll add a couple more turns to her s2’s cooldown, though.

The Solution: Go for Platy first. If the worst comes to the worst, one Platy will revive the other, and then add the extra cooldown time to her s2, which will give you the time to kill the freshly-revived Platy, and then kill the other one. After that, you can aim for Mellia.

Stage 2

We’re at stage 2 now! We’ve got three Nishas (fire Dryads) and two Xiao Lins (water Kung Fu Girls).

The Threat: Xiao Lin is the main threat here, because of how strong her damage is. Althoguh her s3’s targets are randomized, they can be seriously deadly if you have any harmful effects on your team – which is exactly what Nisha provides, AoE buff block. To be honest, Nisha isn’t that scary to deal with, but she sets up Xiao Lin here.

The Solution: Go for Xiao Lin. I know I’d usually say something like “you’ll want to go for the unit that would set up the main damage dealer,” but honestly there’s less Xiao Lins than there are Nishas. After that, you can go for Nisha herself – her damage isn’t that great, so you’re good on that regard.

Stage 3

We’re halfway through the floor! Here, we’ve got a Xiana (dark Beast Rider) and two Brigs (light Pirate Captains).

The Threat: Hey, so it turns out that once you kill Xiana, she’ll dismount from the beast and heal back to full HP. However, her max HP does decrease by 50% after she dismounts. Despite that, her damage skills are very much going to screw you over if you don’t get her in control in some way. Her s3 with the beast will attack all enemies and decrease their Attack Bar to 0, so that’s really something you don’t want to deal with.

The Solution: The solution is going to be to take out Xiana first. Brig is a bit annoying to deal with, but he’s all single target. (Then again, his s3 can one-shot someone in the higher stages.) Point is you really won’t have to worry about a lot as long as you keep Brig frozen/stunned and Xiana under control.

Stage 4

We’re at Stage 4 now! We’ve got three Hernes (water Dryads) and two Hraesvelgs (wind Barbaric Kings).

The Threat: The threat here is actually Herne! She’s one of the few units with Oblivion (the passive-blocking debuff), and was the first 4-star unit with Oblivion as well. Thankfully, it’s only a single-target attack, but it’s still super annoying to deal with. Hraesvelg still sucks to deal with, thanks to his AoE damage and shocking speed, but he’s not as bad as he used to be; he’s sort of been powercrept out of the meta, actually.

The Solution: Herne is annoying to deal with, so I’d probably say go for her first. She removes debuffs and puts Oblivion on your units, which can end up completely disabling one of your most important units if you’re not lucky. Hraesvelg… well, he’s got damage and that’s about it.

Stage 5

We’re this close to the boss now! Here, we’ve got three Fellerias (light Dryads) and two Trasars (dark Giant Warriors).

The Threat: Trasar is a huge threat damage-wise. His s2 is going to throw his stone up into the air, and when it comes down the next turn it’ll do some serious damage. His passive will negate the damage that will otherwise kill him, and then he grants himself an extra turn. Felleria, meanwhile, heals everyone with debuffs for 10% each turn she takes. On the allies without debuffs, she’ll grant them a shield equivalent to 10% of her Max HP.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for Trasar first. Felleria can’t really do a lot of damage on you, but Trasar can and has one-shot my teams when I went up to the higher floors. It’s not exactly very fun to deal with. Felleria’s healing is annoying to deal with, but she’s not going to kill you.

Stage 6

It’s boss time! We’ve got Hyanes as our boss unit, and two other Dryads as our supporting threats. The elements of her Dryad friends changes each rotation, but this time we have a Nisha and a Mellia.

The Threat: As always, the threat is going to be very different depending on what elements the lackeys are. You could get a really good hand with the worst of the family members, or the lackeys could be the strongest of the family. It all depends on which floor you’re on.

In this case, though, the threat is going to be Mellia and Hyanes. Nisha is probably the worst of her sisters, so you don’t have to worry that much about her.

The Solution: Mellia is really annoying to deal with, so you’d probably be better off bringing a cleanser (e.g. Veromos). This will also reduce the pain of Hyanes increasing the duration of your debuffs as well. With that said, you can probably just burst down Hyanes real quickly. However, if you’re having trouble with Mellia or Nisha, there’s no shame in killing either of them before you go for Hyanes.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many copies of Hyanes did you all get? As of this article, I’m at floor B8, and I plan on pushing more afterwards. In the meantime, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, November the 10th, 2021, the Lucas (light Neostone Fighter) Hall of Heroes was announced. Lucas is actually somewhat decent of a unit; it’s just that he’s not very meta anymore.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Lucas Good?

Lucas is pretty good, but he’s not going to be a meta-destroying RTA unit or anything. He’s good at what he does until his shields aren’t enough to let him soak up any hits. The entire Neostone Fighter family isn’t exactly the best, mind you, but they’re not bad at their jobs, either. Overall, they’re just either underwhelming or outshined easily.

Stage 1

Welcome to stage 1. Here, we have three Trevors (fire Neostone Fighters) and two Galleons (water Pirate Captains).

The Threat: Surprisingly, the threat here is Galleon. Galleon is an incredibly useful unit, due to how he breaks all enemies’ defenses, and increases his allies’ Attack, both for 2 turns. This, in turn, will enable the damage dealers on his team (in this case, the Trevors) to deal far more damage. I’ve had multiple units be one-shotted from this stage alone.

Oh yeah, and Trevor’s a single-target attacker unit who deals more damage the more HP he loses, as well. So that’s always fun.

The Solution: Go for Galleon first. There’s only two of him in the team (versus three of Trevor), so it’ll be easier to burst him down first. He enables Trevor to deal far more damage than usual. As you’d expect, you’ll probably want to go for Trevor in as few moves as you can, so this way he doesn’t deal even more damage on you and kill one of your units.

Stage 2

Alright, we’re off to stage 2! We’ve got three Ryans (water Neostone Fighter) and then two Hraesvelgs (wind Barbaric Kings).

The Threat: The threat here is probably going to be Ryan. Hraesvelg does have AoE damage, but apart from that Ryan’s going to be the one who deals the most damage. His s3 always lands as a Critical Hit, and he’ll increase his Attack Bar based on how much HP the enemy lost from his s3. Basically, like Trevor, he’s great at single-target damage, and can usually burst down one of your units quick if you’re not careful.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for Ryan first. Hraesvelg’s AoE damage isn’t the best to deal with, and he increases his speed after using his s3, but Ryan gets really strong when you get up to the higher stages. After that, you can go for Hraesvelg, no sweat.

Stage 3

Miniboss time! Here, we’ve got a Shan (light Chimera) and two Amduats (dark Horuses).

The Threat: Unsurprisingly, the threat is both Shan and the Amduats. Shan’s s3 stuns all enemies, before increasing both the Attack Bar of his allies by 25% and the attack Speed of his allies for 2 turns. And then there’s Amduat, who increases his attack bar by 15% every time an enemy gets a turn. It’s super annoying to deal with.

It’s very easy to get lapped, stunned and destroyed again and again if you’re not careful, or don’t have a good cleanser with you.

The Solution: I’d usually say “you can kill Shan without worrying about his lackeys,” but you know what? No. Kill the Amduats first. It’ll be better for you in the long run; you really don’t want to deal with Amduat cutting ahead of your units whenever you get a turn. So, just kill the both of them and then go for Shan.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway through the floor! We’ve got three Logans (wind Neostone Fighters) and two Hong Huas (fire Kung Fu Girls).

The Threat: Logan can potentially take three turns in a row, and Hong Hua extends debuffs on each person she hits with her s3. They’re a surprising duo that you wouldn’t think be so annoying, but I’ve actually gotten a bunch of my units killed from this stage alone.

The Solution: I’d probably say go for Logan first. Logan does a lot more damage than you’d expect; Hong Hua doesn’t have the best damage but does have debuff extension galore. She’s easy enough to deal with, but Logan will really mess up your day if he depletes your Attack Bar.

Stage 5

We’re almost done! We’ve got three Karls (dark Neostone Fighters) and two Amarnas (light Anubises).

The Threat: Amarna is going to be the biggest threat here for sure. His s3, Secret of Eternal Life, is absolutely loaded. He’ll remove all debuffs from all enemies, heals everyone for 30% of their HP, and revives all dead enemies for 30% of their HP. The only drawback to this is that his s3’s cooldown will increase by 2 turns for each dead ally he revives.

Karl just does really good damage. That’s it, that’s the end of it.

The Solution: The solution is to go for Amarna first, maybe both of them at the same time. This will ensure that they can’t heal or revive each other, and honestly just makes your job way easier. After that, taking down Karl will be quick enough work, and then we can move on to the boss stage!

Stage 6

It’s boss time! The boss is always going to be Lucas and two more Neostone Fighters.

The Threat: The threat here depends on what the lackey elements are. In this case, I’d probably say the biggest threat here is going to be Trevor. Lucas can be easily dealt with, with just buff-blocking debuffs. No more shields! (Or at least until that debuff expires). Logan isn’t that bad to deal with, I guess.

The Solution: There’s two solutions to this: either you can kill Trevor and then go for Lucas, or just aim straight for Lucas. You don’t have to kill the lackeys in order to progress, so if it’s easy enough for you to just burst down Lucas and then end it there.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! How many copies of Lucas did you get? I’m at 3 copies right now, and I’m about to go to B7. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Thursday (yes, Thursday), October 7th, 2021, the Maruna (fire Boomerang Warrior) Hall of Heroes was announced. Personally, I really like Maruna! She was my first of the Boomerang Warriors, and she’s really good for ToA.

In my case, I have decided to use Charlotte, Loren, Frigate, Verad, and Rica.

Is Maruna Good?

Yes! She’s not nearly as good as, say, Sabrina, however she does her spots. She’s primarily used to Stun enemies in ToA, as her s3, Flame Drive, will attack all enemies and stun then for 1 turn, while pulling a Chakram Dancer along. Whichever unit the Chakram Dancer hits is guaranteed to be stunned, as well; it ignores the enemy monster’s Resistance. (As long as you don’t land it as a Glancing Hit, of course.)

Stage 1

Welcome to Stage 1! We start off with three Sabrinas (water Boomerang Warriors) and two Melissas (wind Chakram Dancers)

The Threat: As I mentioned earlier, Sabrina is the best of the Boomerang Warriors. This is due to her passive, Female Warrior, which decreases the damage she takes by 20% on enemies with buffs on them, while also increasing the damage she deals by 20% on enemies with no buffs on them. Any Chakram Dancer alongside her will also gain this effect as well.

Melissa is surprisingly high-damage; her gimmick is that her s3’s damage bypasses all damage reduction effects. Invincibility and Shield won’t do piddly squat against her.

The Solution: It’s easier to take out Melissa first before going for Sabrina. The main gimmick of the Chakram Dancers and Boomerang Warriors is that they pull each other along for their attacks, so if all the Chakram Dancers are dead a lot of the damage is gone.

Stage 2

We’re off to stage 2! Here, we’ve got three Zenobias (wind Boomerang Warriors) and two Shainas (fire Chakram Dancers).

The Threat: Does anyone else remember the days when Shaina had Attack Bar decrease in her passive? Because I do. Anyway, Shaina’s the biggest threat here. Her passive decreases Defense on everyone she hits for 1 turn, while also increasing her Accuracy by 25%. Any other Boomerang Warrior she attacks with will also have their accuracy increased as well.

Zenobia is a single-target attacker, who’s focused on increasing the time of debuffs on her enemies. Her s3 attacks an enemy, stuns then and then increases the debuff duration on the enemies for a turn. Any Chakram Dancer she attacks with will also increase debuff durations for a turn.

The Solution: Go for Shaina first. She may not be super OP anymore, but her defense break is still insane to deal with. Zenobia can increase debuff durations, mind you, but that’s only a single-target attack. Shaina’s s2 is an AoE attack!

Stage 3

It’s miniboss time! We’ve got a Bael (fire Demon) and two Xiao Lins (water Kung Fu Girls).

The Threat: Bael’s the biggest threat. Mainly because he’s the miniboss, and you have to kill him in order to pass, and that’s it. His s3 attacks all enemies at a constant elemental advantage, and he inflicts Continuous Damage amounts that are proportionate to the amount of damage he deals for 2 turns. Xiao Lin has high damage; her S3 attacks random enemies 4 times, and deals more damage based on how many debuffs the enemy had on.

The Solution: The solution is pretty easy – all you have to do is kill Bael and then move on. If you’re struggling because of Xiao Lin, though, you can definitely aim for her first and then move on.

Stage 4

We’re more than halfway through! We’ve got three Martinas (dark Boomerang Warriors) and two Devas (light Chakram Dancers).

The Threat: Martina scares me. Her passive steals a buff from the enemy with each hit, and increases her damage by 10% up to 15 times every time she steals a buff. If she has any Chakram Dancers in her team, she’ll also gives the buffs she steals to the Chakram Dancer. Deva’s passive has additional damage that’s proportionate to the enemy’s max HP, as well, however it’s not very high damage.

The Solution: Take out Martina first. She’s high damage, and she steals buffs. Deva isn’t so bad, because her damage isn’t that good, but Martina is where you realy have to worry. Or, if you’re worried about dying from the pair-ups, you can go for Deva first, because there’s less Chakrams.

Stage 5

We’re almost done! We’ve got three Baileys (light Boomerang Warriors) and two Belitas (dark Chakram Dancers).

The Threat: The threat here’s Belita. Bailey has high damage on her s3 and attack bar increasing, but Belita turns all of your buffs into DoTs. She’ll also decrease your HP by 5% per DoT that she applies to her enemy.

The Solution: The solution is to take out Belita first, because there’s less Chakram Dancers than Boomerang Warriors. Bailey’s s3 is a bit annoying to deal with, but it’s not an insta-kill like Belita is.

Stage 6

It’s boss time! We’ve got a Maruna, and two other Boomerang Warriors by her side! In this case, we have a Sabrina and two Martinas.

The Threat: The threat depends on whoever the lackeys are. In this case, Maruna would probably be your biggest threat, next to Martina and Sabrina. There’s no Chakram Dancers, so you’re pretty safe here too.

The Solution: The solution here once again depends on who the lackeys are. It’s easy to just burst down Maruna and be done with it (especially because she has an AoE stun in two of her skills), but if you’re struggling a little more you can burst down Sabrina and Martina.

I hope you all enjoyed this article! Did you get any Marunas? I already got a few myself for skillups. In the meantime, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!
