Many people talk about the monsters that you should build. It’s a natural part of Summoner’s War life; you get a good mon, and everyone jumps up screaming “OHHH BUILD THIS BUILD THIS.” I myself have written tons of articles about monsters you should build and why, but you know what’s one thing I don’t see much of? Those articles telling you about monsters NOT to build.
I’m not just talking about “monsters not to build early-game,” I mean “don’t even try, buddy.” There are many reasons why you shouldn’t build them. Maybe they’re too stat-hungry, maybe they were good long ago but got outclassed by better, more common monsters. There are a ton of completely worthless monsters in the game, and it’s downright impossible to list them all, so we’re only going to stick with ten four-star and up monsters.
Nevertheless, here are 10 less-known monsters you shouldn’t build, and why!

#10: Atenai (Fire Undine)

Oh, Atenai, my first regret six-star. I’ve told this story a few times before, but around one of the first few times I cleared ToAN, Atenai popped out of the Legendary Scroll. At first, she looked like a budget Chasun, so I runed her up and even six-starred her. It’s not very hard to see why I did. Her third skill Share Life will balance everyone’s HP percentage and then heal them all by 25% of their HP.
However, as I used her, I realized she was nowhere near as good as Chasun is. Sometimes she ended up leaving an ally with lower HP than they had before (even after the heal), and other times she was just a sitting duck as my monsters got nuked because Share Life is on five turn cooldown (four if you fully skill her up, but who’s going to do that?)
Basically, what I’m saying is not to make the same mistake that I did and build Atenai. I’m told she can be halfway decent in Tartarus Labyrinth, but I wouldn’t try it out. Let’s just move on to the next one on the list.

#9: Stella (Water Assassin)

Stella actually used to be considered a super good monster way back in my day before the release of the twins. I six-starred one to help me out in Fire Rift, and now she goes unused in storage. She actually does have a pretty good kit. Her first skill decreases an enemy’s defense for 2 turns, and her second skill hits an enemy twice, adding Brand and Silence to them.

However, what made her so special was her third skill, Blade Dance of a Reaper, which hit an enemy up to seven times and decreased their attack bar per hit. The amount of times she hit was based off of her speed. Someone calculated that you had to get, like, 225 speed in order to get her to hit the full seven times.
Here’s the thing, though: not only do you need a minimum of 225 speed to maximize Stella’s full potential, but you also have to get her attack, HP to survive, CRIT Damage, CRIT Rate, you name it. And then the twins came out and needed much less rune requirement in order to basically do the same thing as Stella, so now she’s fallen out of use.

#8: Su (Water Rakshasa)

Su was my first non-Lapis nat4, and I knew literally nothing about the game, so I thought Su was a really good mon. And to be honest, I can see why; her kit was pretty good for beginners like I was. Her first skill hits the enemy, decreasing their attack speed for 2 turns. The second skill hits them thrice, with the damage increasing according to her speed and inflicting Continuous Damage if she got a Critical Hit.
However, her third skill Delicate Whip is where she’s really unique. She attacks an enemy, heals herself for 50% of the damage, and guarantees to stun said enemy if they have one harmful effect on them. She actually does seem pretty good on paper, but you realize that there’s no place you can use her if you think about it for a bit. I’m told you can use her in some Guild War offenses if you like? I’m not too sure. Once I realized just how bad her stats are, I shoved her in stage, never to see the light of day again. I’m just glad I never six-starred her…

#7: Raviti (Wind Harg)

Raviti is actually one out of the two four-star monsters in the Harg family, so he’s got that going for him, I guess. Anyway, Raviti is common considered to be a good start R5 cleanser that you could use when you’re breaking into raids, but personally I wouldn’t go for it.

He’s mainly used for his third skill, Deer Song, which removes all harmful effects off allies and creates a shield proportionate to his defense for 3 turns. It’s on a four-turn cooldown when fully skilled up, which is just a turn too much when it comes to raids. There’s actually not a lot I can rant about him here, which is why he’s relatively low on the list.

#6: Akhamamir (Wind Ifrit)

…Well, every monster family’s gotta have a dud. The Ifrit family is super ridiculous, and the entire family is farmable, too – you can get the elemental Ifrits in the Guild Shop, fuse the dark one, and summon the light one in the Ancient Magic shop.
The Ifrits all have their specific niches, too. Veromos is great in early-game GB10 for cleansing off debuffs and stunning the trash waves, Theomars is an OP damage dealer who will proc like mad if the enemy has Vio runes on him, Tesarion is the only farmable Oblivion-dealer in the game, and Elsharion is like the opposite of Veromos – instead of cleansing debuffs off his allies, he’ll strip buffs off his enemies and apply it to his allies.
Akhamamir, though… ehhhhhh…
Akhamamir’s a bit weird. His second skill, Super Crush, is based off his Max HP, despite being a damage-type monster. His third skill, Mach Crush, is pure damage based off how many debuffs an enemy has on them. Now, all that’s fine and stuff (especially if you don’t have an AoE wind damage dealer yet), but once you pull a Lushen, you’ll end up binning Akhamamir. And it’s not the Ifrit’s fault either, despite his second skill being not the best for him. Lushen’s so overpowered that he’s the superior wind damage dealer next to Charlotte. Anyone else? Nope, not worth it.
This is a really weird case of, if Lushen didn’t exist, Akhamamir wouldn’t be on this list.

#5: Xiong Fei (Fire Panda Warrior)

Like quite a few other monsters on this list, Xiong Fei is actually relatively obtainable by most people’s standards – he’s one of the fusable nat5s that you can make. People use him in starter NB10 and as a tank in R5, but frankly, I kind of regret making my own Xiong Fei.
Don’t get me wrong, though, his stats are great. His HP is super high and his defense is the third highest in the game, beaten only by Taranys (the wind Druid) and Fermion (the dark Archangel). This makes him one of the most perfect meat shields to soak up the boss’s hits and Oblivion in R5, because that’s his main goal – not to bring in an OP passive, not to deal damage, but to tank hits.
Like Raviti, there’s not a lot about him that’s super bad, but he’s not worth going through the effort to fuse when you’re gonna use him so little and possibly even replace him as you get better and better at raids.

#4: Lanett (Dark Magic Knight)

I actually really wanted Lanett ever since her first HoH. It’s the first Hall of Heroes that I remember, and I wanted her because she looked super pretty and her third skill was the most OP in nooblet me’s eyes. Anniversary HoH 2018, I of course went with Lanett. In hindsight, I should’ve gone for Brig so that I could’ve had Galleon skillups when I got him. But I digress, let’s talk more about Lanett.
Lanett’s first skill when awakened will attack one enemies twice and then all enemies the third time, and each attack has a chance to land a DoT for one turn. Her second skill attacks random enemies with four hits, each hit landing a Defense Break for 2 turns. And finally, her third skill, Gravity Shot, will attack an enemy based off their (the enemy’s) max HP, healing all her allies for 30% of the damage dealt.
Now, at first glance, she looks like she could be super overpowered for NB10, and to be honest, she was. I loved using her, Lushen, Lupinus, Loren and Colleen as my NB10 team. They netted me some really sweet times too; if I remember correctly the best time we hit was 1:30. Aaaaand then the twins came out, and many NB10 multihitters like Fuco or Rigel were considered worthless. Poor Lanett ended up being one of those multihitters.
There’s another weird thing about Lanett that makes her not worth building: She’s classified as a Defense monster, but none of her skills scale off her defense. Overall, it’s a weird classification that doesn’t fit her kit, and now she’s outshined by the Chakram Dancers and Boomerang Warriors, which is why she made this list.

#3: Christina (Wind Cannon Girl)

Oh look, it’s one of the two new Daphnises. When I say “the new Daphnis,” I mean that for the longest time, Daphnis was considered to be one of the, if not the worst nat5s in the game. Now, though, his skill 3 is super wordy but it’s super good too. So who ended up dethroning Daphnis as the worst nat5 in the game?
Christina, the wind Cannon Girl. The Cannon Girls are actually a kinda weird monster family. They’re the first 4-star family to have a nat5 as their elemental sister. There are two nat5s in the Cannon Girl family – Christina, and Bella the dark version. Now, Christina wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for her awakened fourth skill and her passive. See, her passive Coy Revenge will increase her damage she’ll deal on someone by 15% whenever she’s attacked (per attack, mind you, not per hit). This stacks 5 times and resets whenever her turn ends.
Now let’s talk about her fourth skill, Rolling Cannon. She’ll attack all enemies, and the damage she deals is based off of how many allies are alive and the attack power of all her allies. Her damage does weaken the lower the attack power of her allies is, so you basically have to take her into a super cleavey glass cannon team, which is the exact opposite of the meta in RTA. There is literally no place you can use her in this state, and she needs a buff big time.

#2: Homunculus(Support) (Light/Dark Homunculus)

Sadly enough, the Homunculi have been falling out of use for a while now, and the light and dark Homunculi have been kind of worthless for a while. I’m going to call the light one Soleil and the dark one Lunalessa so this way I don’t have to keep referring to them as Light Homunc or Dark Homunc.
Let’s start with Soleil’s skills. Clearly, Soleil ended up getting the short end of the stick. Her second skill can go one of two ways: Operation Alpha or Beta. Operation Alpha can become Accelerate or Power-up. In Operation Alpha – Accelerate, will heal an ally’s HP by 30% and then completely fill up their attack bar. Alpha Power-up will heal the ally by 30%, but this time increase everyone’s attack power for 2 turns.
Operation Beta’s base skill heals everyone by a measly 15%. Operation Beta can become Protect or Accelerate. Accelerate will recover everyone’s HP and Attack Bar by 15% each, which isn’t much in terms of attack bar or healing skills. Beta Protect will create a shield equal to 15% of the ally’s HP on allies with full HP, and it’ll last for 2 turns. First of all, with the amount that Soleil heals, it’s near impossible to get someone to full HP, and second of all, that’s not even that much HP.
The worst part of her is her third skills, though. Fast Pace will make the Attack Bar of a chosen ally and enemy rise to 100%, and whoever goes first is just a matter of speed. Counter Phase increases the Defense of all her allies by 2 turns, and will also counterattack for 2 turns whenever attacked. Remember Soleil is mainly a healer who doesn’t do that much damage at all or really do much on her first skill. Rock On will increase everyone’s Attack Power for 2 turns, and then 2 allies (excluding herself) will attack an enemy target. Finally, Turning Point will evenly match the percentage of all allies’ HP, remove all harmful effects, and increase their Defense for 2 turns.
People have used Turning Point Soleil as a cleanser in R5, but there are plenty of other cleansers who can do better – such as Mihyang, Lisa, Amarna, heck, even Konamiya. And everyone I just listed doesn’t require months upon months of farming Rift Beasts to get them, either.
Lunalessa’s a little better than Soleil. Her second skill can go one of two main branches: Operation Gamma or Delta. Gamma can become Gamma Weaken or Gamma Control. Gamma Weaken will attack an enemy, remove all beneficial effects on them, and then has a 50% chance to break their Defense for 2 turns. Gamma Control does the same as Weaken, except instead of Defense break, it’s a 50% chance to stun them for 1 turn.
Delta, meanwhile, can become Delta Chain or Delta Ruin. Delta Chain attacks an enemy three times, having a 15% chance to elongate the harmful effects on the enemy she attacks for 1 turn. Delta Ruin, meanwhile, will attack an enemy, has a 25% chance to lengthen the time of the harmful effects on them, and then lower the enemy’s HP proportionate to the total number of turns of harmful effects that have been granted on them.
Her third skills are actually pretty good. Shock Wave will try and remove all beneficial effects from every enemy in the battle field, and stuns them with a 25% chance. Unbalanced Field makes her actually pretty decent; increasing the skill cooldown of all enemies by 1 turn and decreasing their speed for 2 turns, while decreasing the skill cooldown of all allies by 1 turn and increasing their speed for 2 turns. Lockdown is definitely the worst of these skills; putting an enemy to sleep (SLEEP) for 3 turns, and then decreasing the attack speed of all other enemies for 2 turns. Analyze Weakpoint attacks an enemy 4 times, granting a random harmful effect that isn’t already on them for 2 turns.
Lunalessa is pretty good, yes, but the Homunculi have been falling out of use for a while now because there are easier obtainable monsters that are just better than them, and again, don’t require months and months of farming. That’s why I don’t recommend building a support Homunculus as of this writing. The light one is complete garbage, and the dark one has better versions you can use.

#1: Geldnir (Light Lightning Emperor)

Oh. Oh dear. I am so sorry for everybody who has a Geldnir as their only LnD nat5. When the Lightning Emperors first came out, I thought Geldnir here looked pretty good – as you can see in my First Look article for the Lightning Emperors. I was wrong. So very, very wrong.

His passive skill, Eye of Pioneer, will have him heal an ally by 35% of the damage they took after they get hit by someone whenever he has Knowledge up. If he has 5 Knowledge, he’ll heal them by 70% of their HP. Turns out that he’s a worse version of Darion; you can waste the Knowledge stacks he has by having a support monster like Racuni poke someone a few times, and then he only has one skill and does nothing half the time.
It’s a crying shame, too, because of how rare he is. He’s one of those monsters that you would feel super conflicted on getting because on one hand, he’s a Light nat5, but on the other hand he’s also super worthless because of how useless his passive is. The world’s turned from “BUFF DAPHNIS AND SEKHMET” to “BUFF CHRISTINA AND GELDNIR” for good reason. Geldnir needs a buff, and he needs it now.
I hope you all enjoyed this article. Do you have any of the monsters I listed? I’m pretty sure you would, because I’ve got everyone except the top three listed here. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!]]>

Four days ago, on 10/29/18, patch number 4.1.12 was released! We got a bunch of minor updates, but the main focus of this update are the two new monsters – the Lightning Emperors and the Giant Warriors! Today, I’m going to take a first-look at the Lightning Emperors and their unique mechanic: the Knowledge mechanic!
I’ve been super busy, looking for skill icons for these two mons, so I’m sorry these first look articles are kinda late.

Baleygr (Fire Lightning Emperor) [Attack]

So this guy’s actually fusable! He’s our brand new fusion, after Jeanne, who everyone thought sucked, but then turned out to be Chandra’s waifu. Anyway, I’m sorta fawning over how hot the unawakened Lightning Emperors are, but that won’t stop me from doing first looks on their skills!
Lightning Strike: Attacks the enemy and steals one beneficial effect with a 50% chance. So this is Baleygr’s (and everyone’s) first skill. It may not seem like much at first, but it actually plays into his passive, which we’re going to talk about now…
Gain Knowledge (Passive): Gains Knowledge by the number of granted beneficial effects when you’re granted with a beneficial effect. Gains 3 Knowledge when an enemy or ally gets defeated. You can have up to 5 Knowledge. [Automatic Effect] See, this passive here is the main gimmick of the Lightning Emperors. Because it’s technically a second skill, there are two versions of it. This is obviously the more overpowered second skill. I mean, you gain three Knowledge points when anyone on the battlefield dies!
“But what IS Knowledge, exactly?” You may ask yourself. Well, when a Lightning Emperor has Knowledge, he’ll unlock his third skill…
Start of Apocalypse: Attacks the enemies in the order of low HP ratio to high HP ratio by the number of Knowledge you have, and the damage increases as you attack. If you have 5 Knowledge, destroys the enemy’s MAX HP by 50% of the damage dealt. This skill can be used when you have at least 1 Knowledge, and all Knowledge will be consumed once you use the skill. This is also the main gimmick of the Lightning Emperors; their third skills have, like, no cooldown on them (with the exception of Odin) and are ridiculously OP; even more OP when the Lightning Emperor has 5 Knowledge.
I would like to take a moment to remind you all that Baleygr here can be fused! EVERYONE can have him if they want to! Remember that in the previous fusion, Jeanne’s third skill was just “Provokes everyone for 2 turns.” Remember that she had to get buffed multiple times for her to become a Chandra waifu. But with this guym not only is he a massive nuke, but he can destroy HP, and he’s fusable!
Do you smell that, guys? That’s the smell of a Lightning Emperor nerf coming soon. Com2uS is gonna pull a twins on us again. Calling it now y’all.

Bolverk (Water Lightning Emperor) [HP]

And here we have Bolverk, the water Lightning Emperor.
Lightning Strike: Attacks the enemy and steals one beneficial effect with a 50% chance. Same old Lightning Strike.
Learn Knowledge (Passive): Gains Knowledge by the number of granted beneficial effects when you or an enemy is granted with a beneficial effect. You can have up to 5 Knowledge. [Automatic Effect] This is the weaker version of a Knowledge-bringing passive; where the “3 Knowledge if a peepz die” part is replaced with any enemy being granted with a beneficial effect. I like the other Knowledge-granting passive better. Good thing that’s the main second skill!
Forbidden Galdr: Decreases the HP of the enemy target (bosses excluded) by 10% for every Knowledge. If you have 5 Knowledge decreases the target’s MAX HP by 50% instead. After that, heals all allies by the decreased HP. This skill can be used when you have at least 1 Knowledge, and all Knowledge will be consumed once you use this skill. …What.
What. The. Frick.
So Bolverk here just became known as an OP Mo Long. Yes, I said it. There is now an overpowered version of the monster who has defense break, AoE strip, AoE stun, and a massive nuke (IN ONE KIT, MIND YOU). I mean, yeah, Bolverk doesn’t bring the stun or the AoE part of the strip (or the defense break for that matter) but can we talk about how this guy destroys 50% of the target’s max HP and heals everyone for that damage?!
REMINDER THAT THIS SKILL HAS NO COOLDOWN, EITHER!

Odin (Wind Lightning Emperor) [Attack]

Fun fact: Did you know I actually have a friend whose username is Odin? Yes, the jokes of himself being overpowered are constant. Yes, I’m kinda sick of them. Don’t tell him please.
Lightning Strike: Attacks the enemy and steals one beneficial effect with a 50% chance. Yup, that’s a bolt of lightning alright.
Gain Knowledge (Passive): Gains Knowledge by the number of granted beneficial effects when you’re granted with a beneficial effect. Gains 3 Knowledge when an enemy or ally gets defeated. You can have up to 5 Knowledge. [Automatic Effect] Odin here has the better Knowledge passive, so that’s always fun.
Legacy of Knowledge (Passive): Attacks the enemy while ignoring the enemy’s defense by 15% for every Knowledge you have whenever you attack. If you have 5 Knowledge, uses all of your Knowledge to attack while ignoring the enemy’s Defense. In addition, if you get defeated while having Knowledge, you will use all of your Knowledge to be revived with 20% HP per Knowledge used. [Automatic Effect] (Reusable in 11 turns) Okay, after Bolverk’s third skill, is it bad that Odin’s other passive doesn’t look nearly as overpowered? Like, yeah, ignore defense is strong and all, plus it’s bundled with a revive, but Perna always revives with full HP. Odin, meanwhile, has to have 5 Knowledge to have a full HP revive; plus said revive is on a cooldown. I don’t think he’s that OP to be honest.
Maybe he’ll be exempt from the what has to be upcoming Lightning Emperor nerf.

Geldnir (Light Lightning Emperor) [HP]

Lightning Strike: Attacks the enemy and steals one beneficial effect with a 50% chance. We only have one last Lightning Strike to get through at this point! Is it bad I’m excited about that?
Learn Knowledge (Passive): Gains Knowledge by the number of granted beneficial effects when you or an enemy is granted with a beneficial effect. You can have up to 5 Knowledge. [Automatic Effect] Not as fun Knowledge passive coming through, you people.
Eye of Pioneer (Passive): If an ally is attacked, uses one of your Knowledge to heal the ally by 35% of the damage received. If you have 5 Knowledge, the ally will be healed by 70% of the damage received. [Automatic Effect] Huh. So Geldnir’s basically like Dias; he’s basically reducing the damage done to his allies by healing them a certain amount of the damage received. I really like this passive, honestly. On my list of “ten light and/or dark nat5s I want to get but probably never will,” Geldnir’s probably at number 4 or so; next to Pater, Giana and Yeonhong.

Herteit (Dark Lightning Emperor) [Attack]

Lightning Strike: Attacks the enemy and steals one beneficial effect with a 50% chance. YES, NO MORE FIRST SKILLS TO TRY AND THINK OF SOMETHING WITTY FOR –
Gain Knowledge (Passive): Gains Knowledge by the number of granted beneficial effects when you’re granted with a beneficial effect. Gains 3 Knowledge when an enemy or ally gets defeated. You can have up to 5 Knowledge. [Automatic Effect] …oh, I forgot about the second skills. Uhhh…
Knock knock. Who’s there? Bucky. Bucky who? Don’t worry, he doesn’t know either.
Endless Desire: Absorbs 25% of your Attack Power and Defense per Knowledge from the enemy target’s Attack Power and Defense. In addition, if you have 5 Knowledge, steals all beneficial effects granted on the enemy and instantly gains another turn. This skill can be used when you have at least 1 Knowledge, and all Knowledge will be consumed once you use this skill. (Accumulates up to 10 times) Yup, Herteit’s getting nerfed, too. Calling it now. I mean, once this accumulates all ten times, he’d have absorbed 250% of the enemy’s attack power and defense! He’d basically be unkillable while nuking everyone in the battlefield!
Anyway, the Lightning Emperors are super overpowered, but don’t expect them to stay this way forever. Remember with the twins, and how they all attacked at once, but then Com2uS nerfed them, like, two weeks later, so that only two ChakBooms at a time attacked? That’s gonna happen with this. This has been Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article.]]>

On Wednesday, September the 12th, 2018, the Wind Dice Magician (Morris) Hall of Heroes was announced. This is great, especially because of the new Labyrinth, which requires revivers and healers galore. I have a Morris in storage right now, and I haven’t had time to mess with him but after this I think I will build him. You’ll learn in a second why Morris is so good.
Before we begin, Hall of Heroes is a lot like Trial of Ascension, so that means you can use Trial of Ascension strategy and monsters (e.g. attack bar pushbacks, stuns and continuous damage are king). I strongly advise bringing your regular Trial of Ascension team. In my case, I’m using Baretta (L), Belladeon, Frigate, Veromos, and Charlotte. Let’s cut the chatter and get on with it!

Is Morris Usable?

Yes! He’s one of the best of the Dice Magician Family, and let’s get into why by briefly going over his skills: his passive skill, To Live or To Die, will have him roll 2 dice at the start of each of his turns if an ally is dead. If he gets two dice of the same number, he’ll revive all dead allies, and the higher the numbers on the dice are, the more HP they’ll be revived with. That means if he rolls a 2, they’ll be revived with, say, 20% HP and a 6 would be 60%!
Rune Recommendation: Violent + Any set, SPD/HP%/HP%.

Stage 1

Welcome to stage 1; the world of infinite proccing and dice rolling has just begun. Here, we have three Renos (water Dice Magician) and two Cichlids (wind mermaids).
The Threat: Reno has been known as a budget Lushen, because of his sweet damage and ability to ignore defense. His third skill, Dice Madness, has him roll four dice, and then attack all enemies four times. If the number on one dice is the same on a number on another dice, then he would ignore defense on that attack. (e.g. if he rolls 1, 2, 4 and 4, then the fourth attack would ignore defense.)
Cichlid’s also pretty annoying to deal with, too. Her third skill Crushed Hopes will attack an enemy three times. The first attack removes beneficial effects, the second hit decreases their defense for 2 turns, and the third attack increases the cooldown of all the enemy’s skills for 2 turns. That means if you’re unlucky enough and she targets your healer, then you’re going to be unable to heal yourself or any others for a few turns. Let’s also not mention that the attacks hurt, too – there is a very good chance of Crushed Hopes being able to one-shot someone.
The Solution: Kill Reno first. While Cichlid does have skill cooldown increase, Reno has AoE potential to ignore defense. That makes him more dangerous than Cichlid. While that’s true, Cichlid still isn’t a damsel in distress. Her second skill Air Shield is a complete cleanse on someone and then a three-turn shield equivalent to 20% of her Max HP.
So what do you do while you’re busy killing the Renos? Stunlock the Cichlids! If you just keep both mermaids stunned, then they won’t be able to do anything until the main threats are dead, and then you can work on chipping away their HP. Once the five mons on this wave are dead, then you can move on to stage 2.

Stage 2

Alright, it’s time for budget Theomars and budget Tiana to take the stage! Here we have three Ludos (fire Dice Magicians) and two Sohas (water Nine-Tailed Fox).
The Threat: So I actually have a Soha to mess around with – six-starred and everything – and what I’ve learned is that she’s great as a Faimon farmer, a budget stripper in the arena, and is probably one of the real MVPs in the Fire Rift. For those who are unaware: Soha and Aquila (and more or less the new dark Dryad Hyanes) are the only four-star monsters who have an AoE beneficial effect remover skill.
Soha’s third skill, Cleanse, attacks all enemies and removes all their beneficial effects of them, before removing one harmful effect off of all her allies. This not only makes her a pretty cool AoE buff remover, but also as a mini-cleanser. Her second skill Soul Snatcher really hurts, too. But let’s talk about Ludo now.
Ludo’s passive skill will have him roll dice at the start of each turn. The damage he grants will increase up to 70% of the number is large, and the damage he takes will be reduced up to 70% if the number is small. In other words, if he rolls a 6, then the damage he grants will be 70% and the damage reduction will be a mere 20%. In other words, he can really hurt.
The Solution: Kill Soha first. I cannot stress this enough; Soha can strip all your buffs and then cleanse her allies! That stun on Ludo? Oops, it’s been cleansed. Your Fran just cast Fairy’s Blessing? Well, that attack power and immunity’s gotta come off, girl! …Sorry, I got a little carried away. But my point still stands; you have to kill Soha first before you can work on Ludo.

Stage 3

Miniboss time! Here we have one Xing Zhe (wind Monkey King) and two Claras (fire Pierrets)
The Threat: If we’re talking Crowd Control threats from the enemy, I’d say Clara. If we’re talking getting one-shotted when your Charlotte was at Max HP but then Xing Zhe used Lightning Monkey Wand on her and then she was dead and you didn’t bring a reviver to this HoH so you have to quit the run because your main damage dealer is dead, then I’d say Xing Zhe.
I think my personal experience with Xing Zhe speaks for itself, so I’m gonna talk about Clara for a little bit. Her third skill, Wheel of Fire, attacks all enemies three times and stuns them for one turn. The main gimmick of the Pierrets is that their third skills does something extra when used at full HP, so in Clara’s case, her third skill can elongate harmful effects per hit when used at full HP.
I am not kidding, that happens way too often. It stops getting funny the fourth time all of your monsters have four-turn stuns.
The Solution: Did you know that you can just kill the miniboss and boss of the Hall of Heroes without having to take out the lackeys now? That mains you can directly focus on Xing Zhe now. If you want to be extra-safe, attack both Claras once or twice so that they’re not at full HP and therefore cannot go and stun your mons for four turns in a row.

Stage 4

And onto stage 4 we go! Here we have three Tablos (light Dice Magicians) and two Duskies (dark Jack-o-Lanterns)
The Threat: Tablo. Tablo, Tablo, Tablo. I swear, I hate his third skill, “Returned Dice.” His third skill resets everyone’s attack bars (meaning the enemies and the allies get their attack bar reduced to 0), granting all of his allies a speed buff for 1 turn, and then stuns himself for 1 turn. His attack bar decrease and stun can’t be negated by Immunity and ignores resistance.
Dusky, meanwhile, just has a passive called The Night’s Comfort, which grants him a shield if he doesn’t directly attack an enemy (e.g. is stunned or used his second skill)
The Solution: Go for Tablo first, I kid you not. He has screwed up the attack order of my team more times than I can remember, I hate him so much. Once Tablo’s been…taken care of, then you can easily go for Dusky. His shield doesn’t absorb much damage, so you’re good there. Now we can move on to stage 5!

Stage 5

One more stage until the boss! Here, we have three Montes (dark Dice Magicians) and two Figaros (light Jokers)
The Threat: This stage is really just an annoying stage. I see nothing that can outright kill you, unless we’re talking about Monte’s second skill. It’s more about stalling you every now and then. Figaro’s passive, “Camouflage” will have him cancel incoming damage with a 25% chance. Monte’s third skill, Destiny Dice, will balance out the HP ratio of a chosen enemy after he rolls two dice – using the smaller number as the deciding factor of how much HP gets balanced.
The problem is that if he rolls a six on both dice, then he’ll heal the enemy to 100%!
The Solution: Figaro is more of an annoyance than anything, and Monte, under the right circumstances, can actually heal one of your monsters – to full HP, too, if he ends up getting two dice with a 6. I think the biggest annoyance would be Figaro, because of how he occasionally negates damage he takes, like how Garo used to be.
I would say “go kill Figaro first” but it would be way easier to just go for Monte and then Figaro, even though Monte does have a chance at healing you. Once all five are killed, you can safely move on to the boss stage, where Morris and Friends are waiting for you!

Stage 6

That’s right, folks; it’s boss time! Here we have the most variety in the stages, because the lackeys to Morris differ.
The Threat: Because the lackeys differ, the threat differs as well. In this case, Reno is the biggest threat, next to Morris.
The Solution: Thankfully, if the lackeys aren’t threatening enough, you can just go straight for Morris and be done with this stage. However, if the lackeys are giving you trouble, then go for them and then Morris. In this case, I’d go for Reno, stunlock Ludo, and then kill Morris.
I hope you guys enjoyed this article, and managed to get at least one Morris copy to use in Labyrinth or something! I haven’t had time to play around with my own, but if I do, I’ll be sure to get an article delivered straight to you all! I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!]]>

On Wednesday, July the 11th, 2018, the Dark Brownie Magician (Korona) Hall of Heroes was announced. I’m not sure how to feel about Korona. I think he just sucks in general.

Is Korona Usable?

Nope. Recently he got nerfed so that his third skill, Kindness Gone Wrong, only has a 50% chance of stripping now; even though he removes both harmful and beneficial effects now. I’m not too sure if I’d recommend Korona, even if his second skill is Fever Time (which buffs the attack power and CRIT Rate of all allies)
No rune recommendations here because I don’t know.

Stage 1

So we start off this Hall of Heroes with three Aquilas (wind Brownie Magicians) and two Garos (fire Ninjas).
The Threat: Garo is annoying, deadly, and it feels like he is literally unable to die. I know that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there is some truth to it. His passive skill Narrow Escape allows him to save himself from death once per turn and increases his attack bar by 50%. This means that if your Veromos is about to deliver the finishing blow, Garo is going to reduce that damage to 0. If your Charlotte gets a turn before he does, though, then he’ll die from it.
Aquila is one of the only two regular element four-star AoE strippers in the game; next to Soha. Like Korona, his second skill is Fever Time. That alone is really nice about him. His third skill, Unexpected Exposure, attacks all enemies and removes all their beneficial effects off of them. Basically he’s Korona but better.
The Solution: Garo needs to die first. Did you know that when I say “fatal blow” that includes Continuous Damage? If he’s on his first turn and he’s about to die from Continuous Damage, he’ll block one DoT’s damage, but if he has, say, three DoTs on him, then he’ll die from the damage caused by the other two DoTs.
What I’m saying is that you should bring someone like Baretta or the Ice Mist-path water Homunculus. Baretta’s third skill Phoenix’s Fury inflicts two DoTs on all enemies. If you rune him on Despair, it stuns, too. The DoTs will kill Garo, and all you’re left with is Aquila. In the higher stages, Aquila’s third skill can and will one-shot everyone, so keep him stunlocked until you can kill him.

Stage 2

Please come back to me, Draco; I’m sorry for feeding you to Orion when I was a noob.
This stage consist of three Dracos (fire Brownie Magicians) and two Renos (water Dice Magicians)
The Threat: If we’re talking “support-wise” threat, then Draco is a really big threat. Draco’s third skill “Whistle” makes him like a budget Velajuel. He’ll blow a whistle; causing everyone to gain Immunity for 2 turns and have their attack bar increased by 30%. All allies will also gain a random buff between Increase Speed, Increase Attack Power and Increase Defense for 1 turn.
Reno, meanwhile, is an attacker and it turns out he’s a bit of a budget Lushen. His third skill Dice Madness will have him roll four dice to attack all enemies four times. Each dice represents the attack power of each attack, and the greater the number on the dice, the higher the damage. If the number of one of the dice is the same as the previous number, that attack will ignore defense (e.g. if dice 3 and dice 4 have the number 5, then it will ignore defense)
The Solution: Stunlock Draco first. You have to take them down before you focus on anyone else. Immunity is seriously a hassle to deal with, especially in Hall of Heroes. If you’re not fast enough or lucky enough to stun the Dracos, then an AoE buff stripper like Soha or a buff blocker like Zinc would easily be a countermeasure against them.
Reno isn’t that big of a threat until you get to the higher levels. When that happens, make sure that you try and nuke Reno first, instead of going for Draco. Unlike Velajuel, Draco doesn’t cleanse harmful effects off of his allies, so it would be easy to apply defense break and then stun the Renos, if nothing else. Once all five monsters are dead, continue on to stage 3: the miniboss.

Stage 3

Who’s ready to face off against the miniboss? Certainly not me!
Anyway, the miniboss is Son Zhang Lao (dark Monkey King) and two Figaros (light Jokers)
The Threat: Fun fact: did you know that the names for the Monkey Kings are all nicknames for Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of ancient Chinese folklore? I know this because I’ve been watching a lot of “Journey to the West”-type movies and there was a reddit post that mentioned it once. Also, the transmogged version of the light Monkey King, Qitian Dasheng, looks the most similar to Sun Wukong himself out of all the monkeys.
…Alright, I’m going back on topic, I swear. I just wanted to take a moment to nerd out about Sun Wukong.
So as it turns out, Son Zhang Lao has a really cool third skill, Summon Clouds. First of all, his third skill scales off of his max HP. That alone is really nice. Anyway, he’ll attack all enemies with a giant storm cloud to break their defenses for 2 turns and then has a 50% chance to stun them all for one turn. He’s like an attacker version of Galleon…which makes him a better version of Luer.
Figaro is a budget Garo. His passive, Camouflage, gives him a 25% chance to cancel incoming damage, and each time he attacks, he’ll remove a beneficial effect off of the enemy he attacks. While he’s not a damage dealer like Son Zhang Lao is, he’s still pretty annoying to deal with.
The Solution: You can’t stun the miniboss itself during stage 3, but what you can do is put them to sleep and stun the lackeys. I’m not saying that you should put Son Zhang Lao to sleep, but instead keep the Figaros stunned. You don’t have to kill the lackeys anymore in the miniboss and boss stage of Hall of Heroes, which is always nice. Keep the lackeys stunned, the miniboss broken, and his attack bar low.

Stage 4

Oh god, here comes the cancer hamster. In this stage, we have three Orions (water Brownie Magicians) and two Hraesvelgs (no, that was not a typo; wind Barbaric Kings)
The Threat: Orion truly is a cancer hamster. They should change his third skill’s name from “Harmless Prank” to “Painful Prank” I don’t know why I love the phrase “cancer hamster” so much. Maybe it’s because it’s like, two in the frickin’ morning as I type this, but I digress.
Orion, Gemini and Draco all share the same second skill, called “Fly Fly” in which they attack all enemies and break their defenses for 1 turn. That sucks. I’m not even done yet, because I haven’t even mentioned that all Brownie Magicians have a chance to get an additional turn if they use their first skills, and I haven’t talked about why Orion’s third skill is so horrible.
Harmless Prank does five things: First, it removes a beneficial effect off an enemy, then it stuns an enemy, breaks another enemy’s defense for two turns, and grants Unrecoverable on another enemy for three turns, and then it increases all allies’ attack bars by 30%. Keep in mind that the first four things are completely random and uncontrollable, so that could really mess up your team composition.
All this still leaves Hraesvelg, whose third skill attacks all enemies twice, increases the attack power and speed of all allies for 2 turns; and on top of that, when his third skill is on cooldown, he’ll gain a +35 boost to speed and recover his HP by 10% for each turn that the skill is on cooldown. Have I ever mentioned I really want a Hraesvelg, because I really want a Hraesvelg.
The Solution: Lock down all three Orions before you do anything else. I lost count of the amount of times Orion managed to screw up my entire run because he used Harmless Prank and stunned my Charlotte before she could use Wind Guardian Angel and stun everyone else. Also, the attack bar boost basically means that the enemy team’s gonna get the turn before you do.
After that, go for the Hraesvelgs, and make sure that neither of them can use their third skill. A monster who could inflict Silence on them (e.g. Natalie, Stella, Astar, Lupinus, etc.) would be nice, because Silence forces the monster to use their first skill. Cooldown resetting monsters like Zaiross and Platy could work, too. Once you get through this cancer stage, prepare yourself for stage 5.

Stage 5

We’re almost to the boss; don’t give up now!
Here we now have three Geminis (light Brownie Magicians) and two Gregos (dark Liches)
The Threat: Hey, did you know that there have now been three Brownie Magician Hall of Heroes? It’s true; Draco and Gemini were HoH monsters before Korona was!
So Gemini turned out to be a really good monster, and I’m sad that I missed out on his HoH. His passive skill Small Grudge will increase his Attack Power by 50% if his HP ratio is lower than the enemy’s HP ratio the moment he attacks (so if he’s at 3,000 HP and the enemy’s at 10,000 HP, he’ll do more damage). He will also remove one beneficial effect off of the enemy he attacks if he has less beneficial effects than the enemy – making it not the best idea to bring Colleen or Woosa with you!
Grego is an attacker threat. I say this as someone whose friend has a Grego. He’ll decrease the damage inflicted on him and the recovery amount on him by 50%, for starters. That means Eladriel’s second skill will only heal him by 25% and not 50%. On top of that, his attack power will increase by 50% each time an ally or enemy dies; accumulating up to 5 times.
The Solution: I like to kill both Gregos first, this way he doesn’t have a chance at having his passive start to stack up. Admittedly, the other Grego will stack his passive once one is dead, but he would soon be dead anyway. Once he’s done, you can safely take out Gemini, and then you’re ready for the boss stage!

Stage 6

It’s boss time!
The Threat: The threat differs per stage, thanks to the lackeys. For example, in a stage where the boss is Korona and the lackeys Orion and Gemini, then I’d say the biggest threat is Orion. The threat in the screenshot I provided above is tied between Orion and Draco.
The Solution: Again, because the threat varies, the solution varies. Using my example above, I’d say kill Orion, stunlock Gemini, and then kill Korona. You don’t need to kill the lackeys anymore, but sometimes it makes it easier for you; such as when you get unlucky and end up with a massive damage dealer as a lackey. This particular Hall of Heroes was annoying, and I hope you got at least one copy of Korona. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Wednesday, July the 11th, 2018, the Light Kung Fu Girl (Liu Mei) Hall of Heroes was announced, meaning we’re getting back to getting good Hall of Heroes mons, after the fire HoH last month, Antares, broke our streak.

Is Liu Mei Usable?

Yes! Liu Mei is actually really good! Her third skill absorbs the attack bar of targets she attacks by 25%, meaning with the four-hit attack she’ll be able to get another turn after absorbing 100% worth of the enemy team’s attack bar! She makes a good damage dealer in the Rift of Worlds against Khi’zar Kha’jul, just like her water and dark sisters, Xiao Lin and Fei!
I’d rune Liu Mei with Vampire and Revenge, ATK%/CRIT DMG%/ATK%.

Stage 1

Welcome to stage one, watch as you die.
This stage consists of three Hong Huas (fire Kung Fu Girls) and two Renos (water Dice Magicians).
The Threat: I’d probably say Hong Hua is a really big threat.
The Kung Fu Girls all share a similar third skill; called “[Element] Dragon Attack” that strikes random enemies four times. For example, Hong Hua’s third would be “Fire Dragon Attack,” Fei’s “Dark Dragon Attack” and so on and so forth. Like the Occult Girls’ third skills, though, they all do something different. Hong Hua’s Fire Dragon Attack increases the debuffs on enemies she hits by one turn, Ling Ling’s Wind Dragon Attack removes all beneficial effects on enemies she attacks, and so on and so forth.
Reno does bring debuffs, so Hong Hua can and will increase those debuffs if she strikes with Fire Dragon Attack. That’s not all; Reno is sometimes considered a budget Lushen because his third skill, Dice Madness, will attack all enemies four times after rolling the dice. If he gets two dice that are the same numbers (e.g. two dice that rolled a Five) he’ll ignore the defense of everyone.
The Solution: Kill Reno first. If there are no debuffs for Hong Hua to extend the duration of, then most of the threat of her is taken out. Despite this, Hong Hua still has her third skill, which causes one-turn defense break. After you get Reno done, you need to stunlock and kill the Kung Fu Girls before they can get a chance to proc their Dragon Attacks.

Stage 2

Here, we have three Xiao Lins (water Kung Fu Girls) and two Fucos (Wind Liches)
The Threat: Did you know that Xiao Lin is the second best Kung Fu Girl? The number one best is Fei, and we’ll talk about why she’s so good later. But for now, let’s talk about why Xiao Lin is so good.
Xiao Lin’s special effect on her third skill is the fact that each attack will deal 25% more damage if the enemy she hits is suffering from a harmful effect. In other words, if she strikes a Lyn with two Continuous Damage effects on her, she’ll deal 50% more damage than if she strikes a Lyn with no debuffs on her. The Kung Fu Girls are also the princesses of counterattacks – their first skill has a second chance to proc into their second skill, and when their Water Dragon Attack is on cooldown, they have a 25% chance to proc into their first skill, which can also go into their second!
Fuco isn’t that much of a challenge; he’s just more of an annoyance than anything else. Whenever he gets a turn, he grants a 1-turn shield on himself that absorbs damage according to his level – so if he’s, say, level 35, then his shield will absorb 3500 damage. Additionally, if he’s attacked while he has this shield up, he’ll decrease the attacker’s speed for 1 turn.
The Solution: Take out Xiao Lin first. Actually, try and take out every Kung Fu Girl before she can use her third skill, this way you can avoid the headache of massive damage being dealt to you, along with counterattack galore not being a problem.
Fuco has a shield, yes, but that shield can be easily broken because it doesn’t absorb that much damage. Hall of Heroes has been known to go past the maximum level of monsters, just like in Trial of Ascension – Verdehile may only have around 9800 HP at level 40, but that won’t stop ToA from bringing his level to 55 and his HP to, say, 12,000. It’s…wonderful.

Stage 3

Miniboss time! The miniboss consists of one Asima (light Hell Lady) and two Dias’ (dark Death Knights) as her lackeys.
The Threat: As it turns out, Asima is really annoying to deal with. All three of her skills provide Continuous Damage – Skill1 attacks one enemy and gives them a DoT for one turn, second skill Gouge attacks all enemies three times and brings a 1-turn DoT per hit (and deals 50% more damage to enemies under DoTs) and Crumble does the same thing, except it also brings defense break.
Dias is like Darion; his passive Control will decrease the damage all allies take by 15%, and if you attack Dias, he decreases his chance of being hit by a critical hit by 50%. It’s really terrible.
The Solution: It’s a good thing that you don’t have to kill the lackeys anymore! Asima’s really squishy, even with the damage she takes being decreased by 15%, and there are no healers in this stage, so you can just go straight for Asima and you’re golden!

Stage 4

Stage 4 is made up of three Ling Lings (wind Kung Fu Girls) and two Lisas (fire Neostone Agents)
The Threat: While Ling Ling can remove beneficial effects, she’s not that big of a threat. Her damage multipliers are kind of low, so she doesn’t do that much damage. Lisa, on the other hand, is a real jerk-wad and is the biggest threat of the stage.
Her third skill, Attack Command, removes all harmful effects off all allies, and then up to four allies (including herself) will gang up on a monster. In other words, if you don’t leave Lisa permanently stunned or something, she’ll cleanse all those DoTs you’ve worked so hard at putting on everyone, and then possibly kill your Charlotte or something. Trust me, that’s happened to me way too many times to count.
The Solution: Is it just me, or is this Hall of Heroes way more difficult than usual? I’ve had to swap Frigate for Eladriel by round 5. I usually have to by round 7 or something. Anyway, go for the Lisas first. This way, if they’re dead or stunned, they won’t be able to cleanse everyone.
…Or you could do what I did and killed all the Ling Lings. Turns out Ling Ling is really squishy, so I could pretty much one-shot her with Charlotte’s first skill with only an attack buff; no defense break needed. Ling Ling may be the worst of her sisters, I just realized.

Stage 5

Oh boy. We’ve gotten to the worst stage in the Hall of Heroes. This stage is made up of three Feis (dark Kung Fu Girls) and two Cichlids (wind Mermaids)
The Threat: Remember when I said that the second best KFG was Xiao Lin; beaten only by Fei? Well, here’s why Fei is bae, in Reddit’s words:
Dark Dragon Attack has a 25% chance to Ignore Defense per hit.
I’ve seen Feis use Dark Dragon Attack on a defense-broken opponent and the hits that ignore defense will be about 25k per hit. If you’re thinking “that is absolutely crazy,” well you’d be right. This is a very dangerous stage of HoH, because this stage can be what makes or breaks a successful run.
Cichlid isn’t a damsel in distress, either. Her second skill, Air Shield, brings a complete single-target cleanse and a 3-turn shield based off of 20% of her Max HP. Crushed Hopes, her third skill attacks three times – the first hit removes all beneficial effects off an enemy, the second hit decreases the Defense for 2 turns, and then increases the cooldown of their skills by 2 turns.
The Solution: Just kill Fei first. You don’t want her to ignore the defense of your monsters. After all three Feis are gone, the main threat is gone, and you can work on the Cichlids. They don’t heal or anything, so you don’t have to worry about bringing Unrecoverable to the table.
I’d still recommend you watch out for their cleanse, though. While it’s not as good as the Briefing skill for Neostone Agents (where they do a complete cleanse and fill up a target’s attack bar), it’s still a Shield.

Stage 6

It’s boss time!
The Threat: The threat differs per stage, thanks to the lackeys. For example, in a stage where the boss is Liu Mei and the lackeys Xiao Lin and Fei, then I’d say the biggest threat is Fei.
The Solution: Again, because the threat varies, the solution varies. With the Fei and Xiao Lin example, I’d say kill Fei, stunlock Xiao Lin, and then kill Liu Mei. You don’t need to kill the lackeys, but sometimes it makes it easier for you. Anyway, this is a really difficult Hall of Heroes, and I’m hoping you can get at least one Liu Mei! I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!]]>

So you’ve gotten your Geoffrey. “Who’s next?” You ask. The answer is: Akia! Yes, she’s the fire Succubus, and yes, you did have to use her to fuse Veromos way back when you first started in the game!
Fusion recipes are kind of weird. Usually, they’ll end up “borrowing” monsters from other recipes for their own recipe. For example, to fuse Sigmarus you need Jojo, Susano, Arang, and Mina. However, for Katarina you’ll need Baretta, Mikene, Arang, and Shakan – and Veromos needs to use Mikene to fuse as well!
I can sort of see why Com2uS would do this. It keeps them from needing to add too many four-star monsters to the Fusion Hexagram, because we can’t get everything we want, now can we? (The answer is no. No we can’t.) Anyway, enough rambling, I’m gonna talk about Akia now!
Spoiler: I’ve already talked about Akia in “A Newbie’s Guide to Fusing Veromos” However, I’m pretty sure that advice is fairly out-of-date, and now I’m going to make some better advice. Thank you for understanding.

Seal (Wind Harpu)

I give this fusion the Seal of approval! (I’m not sorry.)
Anyway, Seal is the easiest monster to get for this fusion. She’s a two-star monster, and the wind Harpu. I’d recommend getting a few copies of her (keep one for fusion) especially since her fire sister, Colleen, will be an essential part of your NB10 team.

Acquiring Seal

Because she’s a two star monster, you can find her in Unknown Scrolls, Social Summons, the Magic Shop, and in Secret Dungeons. However, I don’t recommend using your Social Points to summon anymore. As of the latest update, you can now use 500 Social Points to buy 20 Energy. I tend to get 1000 Social Points daily, due to my friends sending me Social Points and me sending Social Points to them. That’s 40 Energy – 5 DB10 or GB10 runs!
Basically, never summon with Social Points. A Social Summon (100 points) is just an Unknown Scroll summon. Anyway, enough rambling. If you’re down on your luck I’d recommend going for a Secret Dungeon, but only if you don’t have any luck.
Because she’s a two-star monster, you could easily snipe her from the Shop or get her from Unknown Scrolls. Going a bunch of Secret Dungeon runs just to get her would be a waste of Energy. It takes 5 Energy per run, you’d need 20 pieces to summon her, and if you clear the Secret Dungeon, you get four pieces. That’s 20 Energy wasted.

Awakening Seal

To awaken Seal, you’ll need these essences:
5 MID Wind Essences
15 Low Wind Essences
5 MID Magic Essences
10 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion on Seal

Seal isn’t very good of a monster. Although, to be fair, she’s a two-star monster; that’s pretty much to be expected of most two-star monsters except for a few (namely Konamiya, Colleen, Shannon, and Tarq). She does decrease all enemies’ attack bars by 40%, but if you need an obtainable AoE attack bar decreaser, Krakdon is your man. Speaking of him…

Krakdon (Fire Salamander)

Krakdon is a three-star monster. He’s essentially a better version of Seal, and I talked about him in my article about Trial of Ascension, which you can view here. You can get him from Unknown Scrolls, Social Summons, Mystical Scrolls, Crystal Summons, Fire Scrolls, and Faimon Volcano.

Acquiring Krakdon

The easiest way to get him is to go to Faimon Volcano and farm it a bunch. He’s a drop occasionally in Faimon, not to mention that Faimon Volcano is the most time-efficient way to level up your fodder. While you’re working on leveling up Seal and perhaps some more monsters who would be used to four-star your other monsters, you have a chance of getting Krakdon each time to go to Faimon Volcano.
If you’re looking for the area that has the highest chance of dropping Krakdon, I’d go for Faimon Hell B4. According to the statistics on SWarFarm, it has a 4.6% chance of dropping a nat3 each run, as opposed to B1’s 4% chance of dropping a nat3 each run. I’m not going to say that it’ll be quick and/or easy to get Krakdon – 4.6% is still a really low chance.

Awakening Krakdon

Krakdon requires the least amount of essences that any three-star ever needed in order to be awakened.
20 Low Fire Essences
2 MID Magic Essences
10 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion about Krakdon

Krakdon is actually half-decent. His third skill, Earthquake, decreases everyone’s attack bar by 50% and the damage is proportionate to his Defense. It helps that he’s a defense-based mon, too. If you want an AoE attack bar reducer, I’d recommend getting him if you don’t have anyone better. He’s pretty good in the Trial of Ascension too, as mentioned.
I’d keep a copy of him for pesky ToA stages if I already didn’t have a superior attack bar decreaser; said decreaser Charlotte, otherwise known as the best gurl. Because she’s the best at everything and I love her.

Nangrim (Fire Beast Hunter)

Nangrim still sucks to get. At least it wasn’t as bad as it was before; way back when you solely had to rely on summoning luck to get him. Nowadays you can get him from Mystical Scrolls, Social Summons, Unknown Scrolls, Crystal Summons, Fire Scrolls, and Secret Dungeons.

Acquiring Nangrim

The best way to get a Nangrim is to farm his Secret Dungeon. I know I said earlier in this article that you shouldn’t use a Secret Dungeon for Seal, but that was different. Unlike Nangrim, Seal is incredibly easy to obtain throughout other means, to the point where it was a hassle to go through her Secret Dungeon. Nangrim, however, isn’t nearly as obtainable as Seal is.
Because he’s a three-star monster, Nangrim requires 40 pieces in order to be summoned. And, again, if we say you get four pieces per dungeon run, that’s ten runs, which means 50 energy is burned. That may seem like a lot, yes, but would you rather use up some energy or waste tens or even hundreds of scrolls trying to get this guy?
Anyway, Nangrim can be pretty deadly and even one-shot your monsters, thanks to his passive skill, “Hawk’s Eye.” With each attack, he has a 15% chance of ignoring the enemy’s defense. However, if he doesn’t ignore the enemy’s defense, his chances will increase the next turn, meaning it can go all the way up to 100% if he’s really unlucky. The increased chance disappears if the ignore defense effect is activated, though.

Awakening Nangrim

15 MID Fire Essences
10 Low Fire Essences
10 MID Magic Essences
5 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion on Nangrim

I think he can be decent if used right. He seems like a single-target, budget Lushen…without the guaranteed chance of ignoring defense…and I’m pretty sure lower multipliers…
…You know what, nevermind, he’s not a budget Lushen, just use him for Akia fusion and don’t keep a copy unless you’re a super-late game player who can afford to, I dunno, six-star a Slime and make him your Chiruka Normal farmer, which if you are, why are you reading the articles of a mid-game player (me)?

Ramira (Water Harpy)

Just hearing the word “Harpy” gives me PTSD-like flashbacks nowadays, thanks to my quest to fuse Sigmarus required me farming literally tens of refills worth of Kabir Ruins every day to try and get a wind Harpy, Prilea. ANYway, you can get Ramira from Unknown Scrolls, Social Summons, Mystical Scrolls, Water Scrolls, Crystal Summons, and a Secret Dungeon.
Acquiring Ramira
Like Nangrim, it would be best to use Ramira’s Secret Dungeon as the quickest way to get her. Generally, three-star monsters are the only monsters who are worth going into a Secret Dungeon for. Ramira is no different; not to mention you can farm a bunch of pieces of her if you need some fodder to four-star, five-star, or even six-star someone. Trust me, those Secret Dungeons saved my life a few times when I was six-starring Veromos, Belladeon and Eladriel all at once.

Awakening Ramira

15 MID Water Essences
10 Low Water Essences
10 MID Magic Essences
5 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion on Ramira

I’m not sure if you even can use Ramira anywhere. I mean, yeah, her skillset does look good on paper; 700% multiplier on her third skill, which is a guaranteed Critical Hit. Turns out her base attack is on the low side; 736 when awakened and six-starred and maxed out.
Kamiya is better in pretty much every way. Yes, I know Kamiya isn’t as easy to get, but she was a Hall of Heroes a while back. I still wouldn’t recommend using Ramira because of how high rune requirements are for her. Also, her awakening bonus sucks. 25% Resistance gain? Really?

Akia (Fire Succubus)

You’ve saved up for her, gotten all her materials, and now it’s time to fuse the lovely lady herself!

Acquiring Akia

Fuse her, duh! By the time you get to Akia, you should have all of your material four-starred and maxed out, but not awakened. This is because if you end up pulling one of your monsters awakened from a scroll, that’s awakening and four-star materials that you didn’t have to use up.
Once you get all four monsters out of storage, only then can you awaken them before you fuse Akia. You’ll need 100,000 mana to fuse her, so be warned and remember to have some mana saved up!

Awakening Akia

10 High Fire Essences
20 MID Fire Essences
5 High Magic Essences
15 MID Magic Essences
Overall, you will need:
5 MID Wind Essences
15 Low Wind Essences
15 MID Water Essences
10 Low Water Esssences
10 High Fire Essences
35 MID Fire Essences
5 High Magic Essences
42 MID Magic Essences
30 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion on Akia

Remind me again why I thought Akia was good? When I first wrote A Newbie’s Guide to Fusing Veromos, I said Akia was a pretty decent sleeper unit, because all the Succubi don’t wake monsters up from Sleep whenever they attack now. Akia isn’t at all a very good unit. She’s niche, only has a single-target Sleep and has a low base attack.
Her light sister, Aria, is way better. She’s got a bunch of essential debuffs needed in the Trial of Ascension, and if you do end up fusing more Akias, they should be skillups for Aria – who was Hall of Heroes way back in I think 2014. Anyway, once you fuse Akia, put her in storage, and then in next episode, we’ll get to work on Ling Ling!]]>

You’ve read my guides on fusing Veromos and Sigmarus. Now we’re moving onto the “niche monster” territory; starting with Xiong Fei! If I do end up making “A Newbie’s Guide to Fusing” articles on Katarina and Jeanne, they won’t have teams where you could specifically use them in, PvE wise. Those two are also niche PvP monsters, and I haven’t even fused them yet myself.
Anyway, Xiong Fei is pretty good for a starter NB10 team. He’s got a multihitting first skill, a self-counterattack buff on his second skill, and a four-hit attack with three really nice debuffs on his third. His third skill brings defense break, second Recovery on everyone and counterattack, and his third skill Glancing Hit, attack break and speed decrease.
Like my last five-part series, on fusing Sigmarus, each part will focus on one part of the four-piece puzzle that is fusing Xiong Fei. We’re going to follow the same path that I took when I wrote my five-parter on fusing Veromos/Sigmarus. In this series, we’re going to talk about the easiest way to acquire each monster, their awakening essences, and, at the end, how to create a stable NB10 team.
Let’s get something out in the open real quick first: When you have the main fusion pieces for Xiong Fei (the four monsters that are directly needed to fuse him,) I’m going to say “leave them unawakened and at four stars until you’re ready to fuse” This is because if you get lucky/unlucky and summon one of the fusion pieces awakened, then you wouldn’t have wasted any essences awakening one of the monsters.
Here’s the fusion recipe for Xiong Fei:

Fusing him will be even more difficult than fusing Sigmarus. Not every monster can be farmable from Secret Dungeons, and some can only be acquired from the scenarios. We’re going to begin with the monster that’s the easiest to acquire. He doesn’t need to be fused because you can already get him from Secret Dungeons. I’m talking about…

Geoffrey (Fire Viking)

Acquiring Geoffrey

Geoffrey is a three-star monster, who can be acquired from Secret Dungeons. Because he’s a fire monster, you can usually acquire him on Tuesdays; when the fire dungeon opens. This would also be a good time to get the essences that Geoffrey needs to be awakened, but don’t awaken him just yet.
Geoffrey will need 40 pieces in order to summon him. The pattern for the amount of monster pieces needed to summon a particular monster is: 10 pieces for a 1-star monster (only available through special events), 20 pieces for a 2-star monster, 40 for a 3-star, 50 for a 4-star, and 100 for a five star (the only five-star monster you can get through monster pieces are the Ifrits, in Guild Shop)
For his secret dungeon, I haven’t got much advice, except bring many water monsters. An AoE nuker, like Sigmarus, would work best – Sigmarus especially. Not only does have an AoE freeze, attack bar decrease, damage that scales off of the enemy’s max HP, but he’s fusable!

Awakening Geoffrey

To awaken Geoffrey, you’ll need these essences:
5 MID Fire Essences
15 Low Fire Essences
5 MID Magic Essences
10 Low Magic Essences

Author’s Opinion on Geoffrey

I don’t think Geoffrey would be a monster that you would want to keep around. He does have an interesting passive, though. Said passive will have him recover HP by 30% of the inflicted damage on an enemy, before he then steals a beneficial effect off of the enemy he attacks.
“Well, that makes him good in DB10!” you say.
“That is true,” I respond with, “but he can and will quickly be replaced with Chilling in said DB10 team.”
It’s true; though Geoffrey’s passive is interesting, it’s not unique to only him. Chilling, the water Jack-o-Lantern will steal a beneficial effect from the enemy he attacks, and his attack speed is increased according to the amount of beneficial effects on him.
In other words, I would only recommend getting a Geoffrey to fuse Xiong Fei with. If you want a buff stealer like him, then wait for Chilling! Trust me, he’s way better in DB10 than Geoffrey would be.
I recommend maxing him out up to four-stars, but don’t awaken him just yet! In the next part, I’ll be talking about Akia – yes, the fire Succubus, the very fire Succubus needed to fuse Veromos! Curious? You’ll just have to wait for part 2! I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!]]>

It’s been four years since the beginning of the Global server! Now, Com2uS is releasing another great event – this time, the “Summon 4-star monsters” event! Now you too, my dear reader, could have a chance to get Lushen, Galleon, or whatever monster you want!
In this article, I’ll be explaining this event and the best monsters you should aim for.

About This Event

Okay, so this is a little bit like the “customize your legendary rune” event. So you have to collect points, which you can do by doing your daily stuff – using energy, going to the arena, summoning 3 star and up monsters, etc.
You have a daily limit of 1,000 points – and can only acquire up to 10,000 points before you hit your limit and the event won’t allow you to collect anymore. What do you use these points for, you may ask? That’s a good question, and will allow us to move on to the next part of this event…

Summoning 4-Star Monsters

This is the focal point of this event. With 600 points, you can summon a random monster; you can’t choose what you’re going to get. But for 1,000 points, you can narrow down your chosen monster’s element: 1,000 points for a water monster, 1,000 points for a fire monster, and 1,000 points for a wind monster.
You have ten chances to get a monster that you want. When you do get a monster you want, you can acquire that particular monster. However, if you burn through all ten chances and still don’t have anyone, then Com2uS will let you get yourself a Devilmon instead – at least, that’s what I think. I’m only at my first summon, and as you can see, I did not get a Galleon.

Extra Rewards

Of course, this wouldn’t be a Com2uS event without some extra stuff that we can get just for doing our regular things. Whenever you get a certain amount of points, you’re also gonna get some rewards. These rewards are, in order:

500 Points – 100 Energy

1000 Points – 20 Ancient Coins

2000 Points – 200 Crystals

3000 Points – “Full of Bloom Flower Garden” Profile Background

4000 Points – 1 Reappraisal Stone

5000 Points – 30 Ancient Coins

7000 Points – 1 Light and Dark Scroll

Things to Know

Ancient Coins are a fairly new addition. With Ancient Coins (only obtainable via events), you can go to the Ancient Shop and purchase stuff with it. What everyone’s saving up for are the pieces of Elsharion, the light Ifrit. For the uninformed, Elsharion has been in the game since pretty much day 1, but no one could obtain him, and we don’t even know what his skills are.
There was a dataminer a while back who revealed what Elsharion’s skills are, but they’re at least two years old. Com2uS has already stated that they’re reworking Elsharion so that he could be someone fun and new in the game, and in the meantime, we’re just going to have to wait and buy Elsharion pieces…50 coins and 10 pieces at a time.
You can only pick one of the ten monsters that you can get from this event, or the Devilmon if none of the monster choices are to your fancy. Sadly you cannot get all ten monsters, which sucks because I need some six-star food if nothing else. You also probably can’t get the Devilmon along with your chosen monster. Also sad because if I get Galleon he absolutely needs skillups to shine.
The “Full of Bloom Flower Garden” thing is a new background for your profile. Profiles are a recent addition to Summoner’s War. You can see your own profile by going to your arena defense tower and clicking “Profile” Your profile should look something like this:

The lush plains background you see is what can be changed for the “Full of Bloom Flower Garden” background if you have it. I currently don’t have it right now, so I can’t show any screenshots.

What Monster to Go For?

So you’ve got ten chances to get the four-star monster of your dreams. What luck!
…problem is, you have no idea who you want to get. That’s okay! That’s what I’m here for; here to give you the best choices for you!
Here are the most wanted four-star monsters that most people need/want:

Lushen (Wind Joker)

Galleon (Water Pirate Captain)

Chasun (Wind Sky Dancer)

Hwa (Fire Rakshasa)

Any Chakram Dancer/Boomerang Warrior

I excluded Verdehile because of the most recent event that gave everyone a free Verde.Let’s analyze all these choices:

Lushen: This guy can instantly pay off early game, and still be great late-game. He’s the best AoE Ignore Defense nuker out there; most known for Amputation Magic, where he’ll attack everyone thrice, each hit ignoring their defense.

You can slot him into your GB10 team, no matter what you’re using – for the regular starter team (Veromos, Belladeon, Bernard, Shannon, Darion) you can replace Darion for Lushen. He’s not that good in DB10, due to his elemental disadvantage, but he’s pretty nice in NB10.
In fact, I’m using him in my own personal NB10 team: Lushen (L), Loren, Lupinus, Lanett, and Colleen. Lushen is great in Arena, too. There’s a reason why Bernard (L), Galleon, Lushen, Lushen or other iterations of that team is so popular. Lushen would be the best choice overall if you don’t know what to pick but need something to instantly boost your progress.

Galleon: So this here is the guy I’m hunting for. Galleon is best known for his third skill, Time to Loot, where he’ll break every enemy’s defense and miss the loot half the time and increases every ally’s attack power; both of them for two turns.

Galleon is also used in GB10 and DB10…but he’s not an early game monster. You can’t instantly slot him into either B10 team and have your first G/DB10 team. He’s more of a late game monster. When you do hit late game, though, is when you want to start speeding up your teams, making your GB10 and DB10 times under 1:30.
This is where Galleon really shines. I’ve hit a stage where I’m trying to speed up my GB10 team to get under 1:30, but as stated by most people, it’s near impossible to do without Galleon. I have a Luer, yes, but he’s a budget Galleon because while he does give defense break for two turns on everyone, he doesn’t bring attack power to the mix.
If you’re in that stage where you need to speed up your GB10 and DB10 teams, I’d go for Galleon.
Chasun: Chasun has mostly fallen out of the meta. I mean, yeah, she’s a pretty good healer and is annoying on Guild Wars, but I just don’t see where you could potentially use Chasun anywhere nowadays. She could be a +1 for your GB10 team (swap out Darion for Chasun) but that’s about as far as my knowledge goes.
I’m not sure if I would recommend Chasun, but she’s quite liked, so I guess if you need her somehow, you should aim for her.
Hwa: Okay, so my unpopular opinion is that Hwa is really overrated. People say she’s great in GB10, NB10, and Raids, but I don’t understand why for any of them.
Hwa’s known for her passive that reduces attack bars, and can occasionally strike twice (meaning that if she performs her first skill, there’s a chance of her first skill inflicting two hits instead of one). Her damage is also based on her speed, so she already has three factors that make her not-so good in NB10: Speed cap, NB10 boss can’t get his attack bar reduced, and monsters that are guaranteed to hit at least twice are the best for breaking the shield.
She’s not good in GB10 because of her elemental disadvantage (fire in a water dungeon), and since the Giant counterattacks after the seventh hit on him, she’s got a kind of good chance to get counter-attacked. In raids, there’s a good chance she could get Oblivion’d – Oblivion a debuff that blocks passives. I wouldn’t really recommend going for Hwa in this event.
ChakBoom: I put the Chakram Dancers and Boomerang Warrior sisters in the same category because they’re all really good together. Of course, if you have one sister but not the other, I’d aim for the other sister – e.g. have a Maruna but not a Shaina, Talia, or Melissa; have a Shaina but not Maruna, Sabrina or Zenobia.

Where to Farm For Points?

This is the most common question asked during all of these “farm for points and get sweet rewards” events.
There are two places where people farm their points 99% of the time: Faimon Hell and the B10s (GB10, DB10 and NB10). We’ll just pay attention to Faimon Hell and GB10, because if we talk about DB10, NB10, arena, etc. this section would be far too long for its own good. We’ll do a comparison of the two places and their statistics.
To make things easier for the both of us, let’s assume that you have a 1:00 Faimon Hell 1 time and a 1:40 GB10 time. Two Faimon Hell runs will burn up 10 energy in 2 minutes, as opposed to doing 1 run of GB10, which burns up 8 energy in 1:40 minutes. However, 2 GB10 runs would take 3 minutes and 20 seconds and uses up 16 energy. While Faimon Hell would still be shorter (and three runs), you’d only spend 15 energy.
Let’s also mention that GB10 will give you runes, mystical scrolls, unknown scrolls, which adds to your collection of rewards; not just getting points. Overall, I’d recommend GB10, but if you’re in a rush and need to level up stuff, Faimon is your man.
I’m hyped about this new event and I hope you are, too! I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!]]>

On Wednesday, June the 6th, 2018, the Fire Lich (Antares) Hall of Heroes was announced, breaking our three-month streak of good Hall of Heroes mons.
(Note: After B1 I swapped Frigate for Tesarion. I didn’t realize how much I desperately need it until then.)

Is Antares Usable?

He can be usable if you really put your mind to it, but overall, he’s kinda niche. His passive skill, Transcendence, gives him a 15% chance to gain an additional turn whenever the enemy’s turn ends. He’s more or less just a shield breaker for NB10. If you rune him on Violent runes he can go a little crazy, and could screw up speed tuning if his passive procs.
If you do decide to use him for NB10, I’d rune him Violent + Revenge, SPD/HP%/HP%.

Stage 1

We’re beginning stage one with three Rigels (water Liches) and two Racunis (fire Hargs)
The Threat: Rigel’s a pretty big threat. His passive states that he’s immune to sleep, stun and freeze effects. His second skill, Deadly Touch, will attack random enemies and inflict defense break on them. If they already have the slowdown effect on them, then he’ll add a freeze effect on top of the slowdown and possibly the defense break.
On top of that, Racuni sucks, and I don’t mean that in an “oh he’s a bad monster” way. I mean he’s really annoying as hell to deal with. His passive skill will remove up to two harmful effects on a selected ally at every turn, and heals them for 10% of their HP per turn.
This means that, together, they can really wreak havoc – Racuni will cleanse debuffs off of the Rigels, and the Rigels will inflict defense break and freezes on everyone; two things that are deadly when combinbed.
The Solution: Did you know that the Liches are the only four star family who all have passives? That means that if you can bring Tesarion to your team, you’ll pretty much have a cheat code to this Hall of Heroes. Here’s why: Tesarion is one of two monsters who can bring Oblivion onto a monster – Oblivion a debuff that blocks passives.
The only other monster who can also inflict Oblivion is Isis, the light Desert Queen. She’s a nat5, though (an LnD nat5 at that), so don’t expect to get her anytime soon, though. If you don’t have an Isis or a Tesarion, though, I’d seriously recommend looking for a friend whose rep is that, because they can really make this Hall of Heroes easier for you.
Luckily, Tesarion is farmable – he’s the fire Ifrit, and can be acquired via the guild shop.

Stage 2

No jokes for stage two because I can’t think of any; Qebehsenuef’s name sounds more like a sneeze than anything else.
Here, we have three Fucos (wind Liches) and two Qebehsenuefs (water Horuses; yes I spelled that correctly and did not have a seizure on the keyboard)
The Threat: Again, this is another one of those stages where each monster by themselves isn’t that bad, but when they’re on the same team things get…crazy, to say the least.
At the beginning of every one of his turns, Fuco will generate a shield on himself for one turn that absorbs a fixed amount of HP proportionate to his level. On top of that, whenever someone attacks him with the shield on, they’ll have their attack speed decreased for one turn.
Qebehsenuef is a fusable monster, and one of the few decent four-star monsters that can be fused. His main trick is his third skill, Shout of Fury. He’ll increase the attack power and critical rate of all allies for two turns, and then make a selected monster Invincible for one turn. (Basically, you choose a monster, and Qebehsenuef buffs everyone and adds Invincibility onto the chosen monster).
The Invincibility by itself can be enough to annoy you – just be glad they weren’t put on the Halphas stage, but on top of that, the attack power and Critical Rate buff is deadly. Did you also know that there are only four monsters who put AoE attack + Crit Rate buffs on everyone? Those monsters are: Sieq (fire Hellhound), Qebehsenuef (water Horus), Aquila (wind Brownie Magician) and Korona (dark Brownie Magician)
The Solution: Again, Tesarion is your best bet. However, Tesarion only works for Fuco. Qebehsenuef doesn’t have a passive, so Oblivion would do absolutely nothing on him.
I’d recommend bringing a buff stripper like Belladeon or any of the Archangels (due to their first skill), in case you can’t kill the Qebehsenuefs before they buff everyone. On top of that, though, the buff strippers can get rid of the shield on Fuco for a turn or two, which makes then a viable alternative to Tesarion – At least for this turn.
When you successfully kill everyone, you can move on to the next stage.

Stage 3

It’s time to fight the miniboss! Here, we have one Sekhmet (fire Desert Queen) and two Iunus (wind Anubises)
The Threat: Sekhmet for sure. People say that she sucks, but if anything she’s underestimated, especially in Hall of Heroes.
Her third skill, Charming Voice, will attack an enemy, stealing all of its beneficial effects and sets its skills onto max cooldown. Basically, she’s a budget Ganymede – there’s a chance for monsters to resist getting their skills pushed back, but if and when she attacks your reviver and sets their skills on cooldown, before an Iunu kills your damage dealer, you’re gonna cry.
That’s another thing – Iunu is deadly as well. He’s most notable for his passive skill, Underworld King’s Return, where at the moment he’s killed, he’ll revive himself by 30% and then set his attack bar to the max. His attack power will increase by 100% each time he revives himself – but only up to three times.
Brand of Hell, his second skill, also attacks an enemy three times, each hit leaving a Brand effect for two turns. Brand is a debuff that causes enemies to take 25% more damage than they would without the Brand. It’s…fun. /s
The Solution: The solution to here is a little more difficult, because you can’t completely rely on Tesarion. On top of Sekhmet not having a passive skill, bosses and minibosses cannot have Oblivion applied to them. The lackeys can, though, so if you can Oblivion Iunu, I would highly recommend it.
I’m going to give the age-old advice of attack-bar pushbacks, defense breaks, and Continuous Damage as far as the eye can see because it works. I know it’s getting old, but it’s usually what can successfully get you through Hall of Heroes 99% of the time. Who wouldn’t want to win HoH? I mean, hey, free skillups and six-star food!
(As I write this, I’ve already gotten three Antares’ so I can six-star my Dias for raids.)

Stage 4

You, dear reader, are the apple of my Iris!
Here, we have three Gregos (dark Liches) and three Irises (light Magic Knights)
The Threat: So my friend has a Grego, meaning that I can write from experience about him. He has the same two first skills as Rigel (except instead of freeze, he has stun) but his passve is the coolest part about him. King of the Dead decreases the damage he takes and also his recovery amount by 50%. That means that if Eladriel were to heal him, he’d only get healed by 25% of his max HP, and not 50%.
His attack power also increases by 50% for each time an enemy or ally dies. It accumulates up to five times; so his attack power will be increased by 250% if five monsters die. That’s deadly.
Iris is also a really good support monster, even after her nerf. Her passive removes a beneficial effect with each attack with a 35% and heals the ally by 15% of their HP after each attack on her turn. That means Revenge runes won’t heal a monster, but I’m fairly sure that she can still strip beneficial effects with her Revenge runes. Don’t quote me on that, though.
The Solution: Just Tesarion this stage. All five monsters have passives, so it doesn’t matter who you choose to use your Tesarion on – as long as he lands the Oblivion, you’ll have the worst part of that monster gone. This stage might be the easiest, but unfortunately for you, Stage 5 is the hardest of them…

Stage 5

This is probably the hardest stage in the Hall of Heroes, so don’t Halphas it!
Here, we have three Halphas’ (light Liches) and two Hakens (dark Bearmen)
The Threat: Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Welcome to the Halphas stage. I think about half a year ago, Halphas got majorly buffed so that he went from an instant win in ToAH to one of the most annoying and deadly monsters ever.
His passive skill, Endless Attachment, went from just granting Invincibility on himself for one turn when he hits 50% HP to…well, this: he grants Invincibility on himself for one turn once he hits 50% HP. When he has Invincibility on, he’ll drain 10% HP out of each monster for every turn they take, healing himself for that 10%. Here’s what I mean:

Your Sigmarus gets Halphas to 50% HP

Endless Attachment procs

Belladeon heals the team

Halphas drains 10% HP from Belladeon, healing himself with that 10%

Veromos gets a turn

Halphas drains that HP from Vero

He gets an additional turn

He drains him again

I’m not even gonna talk about Haken, who’s so utterly useless and does nothing that I’m not wasting space on him.
The Solution: Tesarion, Tesarion, Tesarion.
If you don’t have a Tesarion or an Isis (light Desert Queen; the other monster who can bring Oblivion) the other thing you can do is land defense break on Halphas and use your strongest nuker against him. Hopefully, it would be able to one shot him and won’t proc his passive. If not, well, I’m sorry for you.
You remember my advice in stage 2, about bringing a buff stealer? That advice also applies here. Of course, if you have a monster that can block beneficial effects, like Megan, I’d recommend bringing them too. Someone like Zinc, who has AoE beneficial effect block, would work wonders, too.

Stage 6

The Threat: Once again, the threat varies per Hall of Heroes stage. For example, any stage with Halphas as a lackey is a stage where you need to either one-shot Halphas or just completely ignore him outright before his passive can cast Invincibility on himself.
The Solution: Any other stage, though, is usually a free-for-all, so you could attack any of the three Liches you wanted. I’d always recommend going for Antares himself in the cases where there’s no Halphas, though, because you don’t have to kill the lackeys in the boss/miniboss stage anymore.
I hope you guys enjoyed this article, as I certainly enjoyed writing it. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!

So on May 2018, we got one of the best Hall of Heroes monsters ever – Mihyang, the water Sky Dancer! Coincidentally, she’s my first Sky Dancer, but I’m happy with that because all five of the Dancers are really good on their own! I recently six-starred her, and I don’t regret it one bit.
This is my Mihyang’s stats:

And these are her runes:

I’m using ATK%/ATK%/HP%.
Let’s begin!

About Mihyang

Mihyang is a really good cleanser. You may be wonder “why do I need a cleanser? I’ve already got Veromos!” The thing is, Mihyang shines the brightest in Rift of Worlds with Khi’zar Kha’jul – basically, she shines in a place where using Veromos is not recommended at all.
For those who don’t know why, Khi’zar Kha’jul can inflict a pretty rare debuff, called Oblivion, on all your monsters – seriously, there are only two monsters in the game that can bring Oblivion. Back on topic, Oblivion blocks passive skills for a certain amount of turns. This means that Veromos cannot cleanse your monsters, but the cleanse is super important because of the attack break, slowdown, and other things that Khi’zar Kha’jul uses.
Mihyang, however, has an active cleanser skill, meaning she won’t be affected by Oblivion. Her cleanse skill, Dance of Mirage, will lengthen the beneficial effect time of her allies and reduce the harmful effect time – both by 1 turn. While it’s not a total cleanse, if the harmful effect is at 1 turn before she uses Dance of Mirage, it will get rid of it.
She also heals everyone based off of her attack stat. This is why my Mihyang has a ton of attack. (Don’t pay attention to the Critical Damage; all my ATK% runes have Crit Damage on it and it added up.)

Early-Game Mihyang

I think she can be used for early game. I mean, she does seem like she’s usable pretty much everywhere when you’re early game, but specifically for GB10. If you do decide to use her as a +1 for GB10, rune her on Swift and Energy; SPD/ATK%/ATK%.
I honestly don’t know if she’s usable early game. I mean, her stat requirement seems pretty high. Can any early-game players who have successfully pulled off using a Mihyang in GB10 fill me in and tell me how difficult it was for you? I would really appreciate it.

Mid-Game Mihyang

I’m told that Mihyang is great in DB10 too, so I guess you can use her too. I mean, I can see where people are coming from when they say this – elemental advantage, buff removal, and a debuff shortening skill. Remember that both the left tower and the DB10 dragon inflict Continuous Damage, so you can see why Mihyang is great. I’m tempted to try her out in DB10, but I don’t think I have the rune quality at the moment.
Other than that, she also seems like a good idea for Guild War comps at this stage. One I can think of off the top of my head would be Chloe, Mihyang, and Katarina. Chloe would cast her Invincibility, Mihyang would lengthen the buff effects, and Katarina, with her Invincibility, would ignore the defenses of her enemies by using Sword of Discharge.
…Shoot, now I want to finally fuse a Katarina.
Runes for her should go from Swift to Violent. That would be Violent + Energy; SPD/ATK%/ATK%.

Late-Game Mihyang

Now this is where you can really use Mihyang. She’s pretty good for some certain Guild War comps, but she shines the brightest in R5, mostly because of her cleansing skill, Dance of Mirage. I’ve already mentioned what everyone likes about her in R5, so I won’t mention it again.
Here, her runeset should be Violent + either Nemesis or Will if you can pull them off. Again, SPD/ATK%/ATK%, but if you can pull it off, go for full ATK% (or ATK%/ATK%/HP%, like what I did).

Skillups for Mihyang?

It’s always recommended to put skillups into the Sky Dancers. Mihyang is no exception. At the very least, try to max out her third skill. Once her third skill is maxed out, it’ll be only three turns – whereas Lisa’s third skill when maxed out is four turns.
Some people say to never Devilmon PvE monsters, but honestly I think Mihyang is worth it. You don’t want to get stuck in a situation where Khi’zar Kha’jul is about to attack, most of your monsters are on low HP, some have debuffs on them, but Mihyang is about to go- oh no, her Dance of Mirage is on cooldown! This can literally be what makes or breaks a run.

Where to Use Mihyang?

Though she’s usable in pretty much everywhere except for NB10, she really shines in R5. This is because of her cleansing skill. Not many people have a cleanser. You can build Konamiya, yes, but he’s got some pretty high skill and stat requirements, too. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend Mihyang for your starter R5 team, because I’m finally building one too.
(More on R5 in my later article which is going to be more of a rant-type.)

Mihyang vs. Lisa

With the new Mihyang Hall of Heroes, pretty much everyone has a great cleanser for R5. However, there is another cleanser whom people also flock to – Lisa, the fire Neostone Agent.

Mihyang

The pros:

Was a Hall of Heroes

Based off of attack

Has a healing skill

Damage on Blade Fan can be pretty high

The cons:

Not a complete cleanse

Lower stats than Lisa

Less attack bar increase on second skill

Somehow less damage

Lisa

The pros:

Higher stats

Complete cleanse

Attacks one enemy with 3 allies

Also decreases cooltime

The cons:

More difficult to get

Higher cooltime on third skill

Is not based off attack

Does not heal

Overall, Mihyang is definitely a great monster whom you should build, specifically for Raids. Some people say Lisa is better, but for those who don’t have her, Mihyang is a great alternative to the fire Neostone Agent. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!
