How to Stay Motivated in Summoners War
After 10 years of Summoners War, we’ve got a lot of updates, patches, new units, events and collabs. But many Summoners are quitting the game every year, because they find it boring, they have no goals anymore or they are overwhelmed with new updates and have problems to keepimg up with the game.
Matching with our latest blogpost “Is it worth playing SW in 2025?” , we’ve got some great tips to get you motivated for your Summoners War journey and keep you going, even after you’ve been playing for years. Because Summoners War isn’t just a game, it’s a community and with tons of content. There is always something to do!
Summoners War can be a full-time job and sometimes it’s hard to keep up the progress. If you’re playing a lot of PvP like RTA and Siege, you need to be active to get the rewards and reach your ambitious ranks. But sometimes, it’s more of a routine and there’s not much new going on, even with new updates, units, and dungeons.
Let’s head down to our tips!
1. Build new units
Com2us is releasing new units every year at regular intervals and we’ve had a bunch of collab units over the past year. We all know that new monsters don’t mean the meta is changing instantly or that the units are strong and overpowered. Many monsters require balance patches to make them even good.
But that’s our point here. Trying out new units can be funny, like when you’re building teams for Dungeons, Arena, or Siege. For example, if you want to play more Siege, it can be essential to build units several times for your offenses. Even 3* or 4* monsters can be useful for Siege offenses and you can test them out in the Guild Battle Research tab and share them with your guild mates. Finding new defenses and offenses for Siege can be tough, but it’s a lot of fun!
Also, if you pick irrelevant or weaker monsters in RTA, the enemy can be overwhelmed and won’t know the monsters’ skills or counters. You can experiement with unusual teams in RTA and just have fun with non-meta monsters!
2. Change your PvP teams
Quite similar to our first point, the second tip is to change your PvP teams. If the meta is changing slowly, you might find it boring to play the same team over and over again or you might not know what to play anymore. In that case, you can test out new units and teams.
Try finding new counters against the meta units or monsters you’re having trouble beating. Lots of YouTubers share their RTA or Siege experiences, showing their offenses and monsters, which is a good source of inspiration to get to know new defenses and offenses for PvP.
Or you could ask your guild mates for new Siege teams. Use the Replay button in RTA, where you can select monsters you find interesting and look what other Summoners are playing.
In Summoners War we’ve got a bunch of units and many of them are underrated. But there’s potential in these monsters. That’s what makes Summoners War stand out — the wide variety and the ability to build new teams.
3. Improve your dungeon teams
Besides PvP, you can also work on your dungeons teams. Are your teams too slow or you’re missing speed teams? Are you’re looking to compete with the top ranks in speed teams or want to be the first? In PvE there are also plenty of options to get things done and work on your personal progress.
Having faster teams means faster runes, artifacts, and rewards!
4. Do something funny
If you’re satisfied with your PvP and PvE teams or you’re not looking to improve them, you can also go for something funny or unusual in Summoners War. For example, you could fill your profile with one 2A monster, evolve all silver-star food monsters to 6-star, play only with Light and Dark monsters or design your island.
5. Find new goals
Once you’ve hit all the goals like Dungeon Speed teams or a certain rank in Arena/RTA, it’s a good idea to find new goals to stay motivated. What’s your next goal? Take a look at your account and see what’s missing. Do you want to have every 2A Monster once or fill out the monster collection as fast as possible? Have you already collected 30 stars in ToA Hell? Or maybe you’re aiming for all the achievements in the game? Have you awakened every monster or evolved them to 6-star?
We all have thousands of possibilities to make Summoners War to a game we can enjoy and set new personal goals.
6. Set yourself challenges
Our last point for how to stay motivated in Summoners War are challenges. Challenges can be very enjoyable and make fun. Maybe you have already set challenges for yourself in other games, like reaching Diamond in Valorant in just one month or playing World of Warcraft on the Hardcore mode. Sure, Summoners War might not be the biggest game or have an open world, but you can set new goals and challenges for yourself.
For example, you could finish the Challenge of Ascension Towers within one week, be rank 1 on ToA Hell every month or get 10 wins in Siege in a whole season. Get creative and see what interests you!
You see, there’s always something new to keep you motivated in the game, even after years of playing. Com2us is always dropping new content, units, and balance patches, so the game’s always changing. Sure, sometimes you’ve got to get a little creative to set new goals or challenges for yourself, but this can be a total game changer.
Summoners War is a game we can enjoy in many different ways, there is no right or wrong. Every Summoner can decide how to play the game. Are you the speed runner, the monster collector or the rank 1 hunter?
We hope that these tips will help you to keep playing the game. It’s totally okay to take a break from Summoners War or to be inactive. Sometimes a change is good for you!
