Fire Phoenix (A) – Perna:

Very versatile when it comes to runes. She has a high base attack and very high based hp. The general consensus is violent/energy runes (the energy can be swapped with blade/endure if the substats allow it). her 2/4/6 slots can be all attack% , all hp %, speed on slot 2, or a mix of both. I personally do speed 2, hp on 4, attack on 6 with violent/endure set.

Her first skill (auto attack) has a stun chance and synergies well with violent runes.

The second skill does damage based on the current hp of the monster. This skill can do more damage than most people think.

Her 3rd skill allows her to revive when killed and gives 10% hp (each individual party member) when it goes to her turn (meaning this procs when she is CCed). This is the skill that makes her very notorious especially with violent runes. Shes preety broken in this aspect.

The fire phoenix can be a great sticky healer that can do moderate to high amounts of damage. Or she can be a sticky dps that comes back alive once u kill it along with its passive.

Water Phoenix (Sigmarus) – While people claim this is the least useful Phoenix, his high attack (one of the highest in the game) and useful effects on his skills make him a versatile unit that can be either a powerful Nuker or CC/support character, depending on what you need and how you rune him. Additionally, his leader skill increases all allies’ HP by 44% in dungeons, making him a very useful leader in PvE. I’ve had him since day 1 and I can’t imagine playing the game without him.

A Rage/Blade rune setup with atk%/Crt D/Atk% will make him a very hard hitting nuker. Mine is only 5* with a single 6* rune and the rest as 4*, but when he crits (74%) he does well over 10k damage. Additionally, hit second skill is his hardest hitting attack and will freeze the opponent with a 100% accuracy on crit, meaning he can CC crucial opponents even as a full attacker.

With a Rage/Focus Rune setup with Spd/Crit%/Accuracy, he is a strong debuffer with respectable damage. His normal attack will stun 50% of the time and his second skill will freeze 100% of the time on a 2 turn cooldown. (ignoring resistance). His 3rd skill is an AoE that applies an attack debuff for 2 turns. This is stupidly powerful with a second nuker on your team, such as Lushen.

And, finally, if you have really good runes, you can combine both roles into one with a Rage/Blade Atk%/Crit D/ Accuracy to make him a strong attacker with high accuracy for his debuffs.

In closing, Sigmarus is a powerful unit that is a strong nuker when built correctly, but really shines when accompanied with another nuker and utilizes his debuffs to their fullest potential.

One of the highest atk stats belong to Teshar. With one AoE that resets on kills, I feel that he benefits from all types of builds including Rage, Despair, Violent, or even just Fatal. Rage allows for huge bursts, while Despair turns him into a hard hitter with CC, and Violent could allow for multi-turn AoE’s that would outdo a Lushen in terms of damage-per-turn in the right circumstances. He’s still one of my newest units so I’m still exploring, but he seems more useful in PvE than in PvP at the moment.
