Ancient Coins Guide & Tierlist

Ancient Coins are a pretty rare currency in Summoners War. You can use them to purchase items from the exclusive Ancient Magic Shop. There’s a great opportunity for new and advanced players to get valuable loot.

How to get Ancient Coins?

It’s not easy to get your hands on some ancient coins. Unfortunately, there’s no way to farm this currency or get the coins through in-game packs. Therefore, Ancient Coins are highly exclusive and valuable. They’re even rarer than the important Reappraisal Stone, which you can buy from several packs.

The only way to get Ancient Coins in Summoners War is through events that are always time-limited. There are a few events that offer rewards in the form of Ancient Coins. But you’ve got to be active during these events if you want to get your hands on the rare coins. Otherwise, you’ll miss out, and there’s no way to get the coins after the event ends.

Fortunately, the events are designed to be accessible for new players and require you to complete some missions, like farming a specific dungeon or playing Arena wings. However, the amount of coins you can earn from each event is capped. So, it’s important to make sure you spend them wisely.

You can find all information also in our Youtube Video (German Dub with English Subtitles):

What’s the best way to spend ancient coins?

The Ancient Coins can only be used in the exclusive Ancient Magic Shop. It’s a shop where you can spend your precious coins and contains many different items from Scrolls to Reappraisal Stone and even Monster Pieces. You’ll find the shop in-game in the bottom right corner of the game under “Shop” and then on the top right under “Ancient Coin”.

For new players, the purchase of monster pieces can be essential. This is the only way to get these specific monsters (the only exception is Fran, which is also a reward from the Summoners Way for all players). Next to Elsharion, the Light Ifrit, and Eirgar, the Dark Vampire Lord, you can purchase monsters from old collaboration events such as Street Fighter, Cookie Run Kingdom, and Assassins Creed. That’s where the name ancient coins comes from, as you can select rewards from the past. The monsters are in the original Summoners War design, so you won’t be able to get the exclusive collaboration design anymore. But don’t worry, their skills are the same.

The Ancient Magic Shop has a great selection of Legendary Scroll Pieces, Engraved Scrolls, 6-Star Legend Runes, and Reappraisal Stones. You can also buy some collectible, such as backgrounds and mounts, as well as cute Harg emojis.

Once you’ve purchased all the important monster pieces (see the next paragraph), we suggest buying Reappraisal Stones with your coins. These are one of the rarest currencies in Summoners War, and there’s no way to farm the stones, just like the Ancient Coins. You can get scrolls and runes by farming, but since the Ancient Coins are so rare, many Summoners are just buying Reappraisal Stones from the Ancient Magic Shop.

Ancient Coins Monster Tierlist

Darkness Vampire Lord (500 Coins)

It’s a unique monster in the game, and you can only get it from the Ancient Coin shop. This monster family doesn’t include any monsters with different elemental attributes.

He’s at the top of our list because the Dark Vampire Lord is a great addition to your early game. He can be used in Elemental Raid Teams and also in your Punisher Team. If you build him a bit tankier, he can sustain and buff your entire team with an ATK buff and the vampire effect. Also, his 38% ATK leader skill in dungeons helps you with your damage output.

Fire Shadow Claw (500 Coins)

Bernadotte, the Fire Shadow Claw, is another unique monster that doesn’t have any other monsters of other elements in its family. It’s the Summoners War version of Ken from the Street Fighter collaboration.

It’s a great monster for PVE and can help you build a fast Steel Fortress team. His leader skill (33% Crit Rate in dungeons) reduces the Crit requirement for the team. Bernadotte is a great choice for solo raids because he deals a lot of damage and also leaves a branding effect on enemies, which lifts their damage as well.

Light Ifrit (500 Coins)

All Ifrits can only be obtained through special methods and cannot be summoned from any scrolls. You can get Ifrit pieces from the guild shop and use them to summon Fire, Water and Wind Ifrit. The Dark Ifrit is a fusion monster, and the Light Ifrit, Elsharion, is only available in the Ancient Coin shop.

He brings a 33% ATK leader skill with him, which is essential for your solo Raid 5 team. Elsharion is also used, together with Raoq, Dusky, and a speed leader, in a niche cleave team in RTA.

Water Magic Order Guardian (500 Coins)

The Water Magic Order Guardian, Anders, is the newest release in the ancient coin shop. It’s part of the Witcher collaboration and was given for free as Water Geralt. The skills are the same, but the Witcher design is no longer available.

For new players, Anders can be a great pick in your first Dragons team and also helpful for your Trials of Ascension runs. He brings an AoE defense break, a lots of attack bar control, and even the ability to stun enemies.

Light Fairy Queen (100 Coins)

You may already be familiar with Fran, as everyone gets her from the Summoners Way. If you accidentally fed her, you can get another one from this coin shop. Don’t forget, you don’t need to level up her skills with additional Fran, you can use any common 3-star fairy for that.

The Light Fairy Queen is a great healer and ATK/Immunity buffer. These abilities will be useful to you right from the start of the game, whether you need her healing in the Scenario, your first Dungeon teams or the Trials of Ascension.

Wind Lollipop Warrior (500 Coins)

Thomas was released as GingerBrave during the Cookie Run Kingdom collaboration.

You won’t see many players using this monster, it can still be seen as a budget Sagar. Because of his high base speed of 110 and his passive skill, Thomas can be picked in RTA to get the first turn.

Light Elite Magical Archer (100 Coins)

Fami, the Light Elite Magical Archer, is comparable to Chris, the Magical Archer. They’re not quite the same, though.

Fami is a niche damage dealer, that can snipe the enemy with her 3rd skill. She’s the only monster in Summoners War, with a Critical Damage leader skill.

Light Dual Blade (500 Coins)

Frederic is the Summoners War version of Altaïr from the Assassin’s Creed collaboration event.

For that amount of coins, it’s probably not worth buying it. He can be used as a damage dealer to snipe one enemy, but there are better options available. Some players are using the Light Dual Blade in their arena offense.

Darkness Cow Girl (100 Coins)

As with the Ifrit family, the Water, Fire, and Wind Cow Girls are also only available from the Guild Shop. The Light Cow Girl, Loren, is available in a secret dungeon. The Dark sister, Cassie, can only be bought in the Ancient Coin Shop.

Loren, Cassie’s light sister, is essential in the game and it’s worth having multiple copies for different builds and use cases. The Dark Cow Girl, on the other hand, isn’t used at all. She’s still waiting for her balance patch to become as famous as her light sister!

Conclusion

Not all monsters need to be purchased and summoned. Some of them aren’t worth the Ancient Coins. If you’re looking to expand or complete your monster collection or have a unique idea for a team, you can also consider the lower-ranked monsters as well. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to get some Reappraisal Stones to make the most of your rune quality.
