th, 2018, Update 3.8.0, we got the twin monsters, the Chakram Dancers and Boomerang Warriors! There was a lot of other stuff that came with this update, like new transmogs (hello there Hatsune Miku Cow Girls) but the main focus here are the new mons!
The Chakram Dancers and Boomerang Warriors are four-star monsters that, when put together on the same team, will actually attack together and their third skills will have benefits shared with the two girls! (For example, if a Chakram Dancer is paired up with a Boomerang Warrior and the Chakram Dancer has a passive that heals herself by 10% of her Max HP, the Boomerang Warrior will heal herself by 10% of her Max HP)
You are currently on Part Two of this article, with the Boomerang Warriors. Click here to be taken to the Chakram Dancers.
Disclaimer: As of this writing. I do not own any of the Boomerang Warriors, nor am I factoring in multipliers or skills when fully skilled up.
Maruna (Fire Boomerang Warrior)
Returning Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to decrease the Defense for 1 turn with a 50% chance. Attacks together with Chakram Dancer during her turn if she’s is included in the ally team. This is a pretty nice first skill. Defense break is always nice, albeit it’s only one turn. The main gimmick, though, is that the Boomerang Warriors will attack together with the Chakram Dancers no matter which skills either twins use.
Boomerang Crush: Attacks all enemies with a boomerang and stuns them for 1 turn with a 50% chance each. Is it just me or does Maruna have a unique second skill that her other variants don’t have? This is basically a better version of Chakram Crush, as it has a higher chance to stun.
Flame Drive: Attacks all enemies with a boomerang and stuns them for 1 turn. The enemy target attacked by Chakram Dancer is guaranteed to be stunned when they attack together. This is a great third skill. When you select an enemy to attack, the Chakram Dancer on your team will attack that target, and the stun on that one will bypass the resistance/accuracy check, meaning that the only thing that will prevent the stun is immunity or a passive that’s immune to stuns.
Author’s Opinion – Definitely giving Maruna a 7/10, maybe even 7.5. She’s a beast in Trial of Ascension, with her constant stuns. I’d rune her on Despair + Focus so that she can get as many stuns in as possible.
Sabrina (Water Boomerang Warrior)
Returning Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to decrease the Defense for 1 turn with a 50% chance. Attacks together with Chakram Dancer during her turn if she’s is included in the ally team. Same first skill.
Triple Strike: Attacks the enemy 3 times to decrease the Defense and Attack Power for 1 turn with a 50% chance each and disturbs the HP recovery. Triple Strike reminds me of Melissa’s Double Strike. It’s the exact same skill as this, only difference being an extra debuff and a third hit.
Female Warrior (Passive): Receives 35% less damage from enemies granted with beneficial effects and inflicts 35% more damage on enemies with no beneficial effects. Chakram Dancer will be granted with the same effect if she’s included in the ally team. [Automatic Effect] Hm, Sabrina’s third skill reminds me of monsters like Darion or Fermion. However, she’s different because as far as I know, there aren’t any other monsters that have something similar to Female Warrior; like Darion’s Knighthood and Dias’s Control being so similar.
Author’s Opinion – Eh. I’d give Sabrina a 5/10. She’s not really that good in my opinion, although the decrease of damage from enemies with beneficial effects on them is pretty nice. I’d say give Sabrina Fatal + Blade runes because I think she’s supposed to be a water nuker, like Talia is.
Zenobia (Wind Boomerang Warrior)
Returning Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to decrease the Defense for 1 turn with a 50% chance. Attacks together with Chakram Dancer during her turn if she’s is included in the ally team. Still the same first skill. I’m gonna start putting interesting tidbits here after I review a first skill whenever I do first looks from now on.
Spirit Focus: Removes all harmful effects granted on yourself and increases your Attack Power for 2 turns. You instantly gain another turn after using the skill. Did you know that the Boomerang Warriors and the Chakram Dancers are the only monster families to share a second skill? It’s true; just look at some of the Chakram Dancers
Vacuum Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to stun the target for 1 turn and increases the harmful effect granted on the enemy by 1 turn. Chakram Dancer’s attack will increase the enemy’s harmful effect duration by 1 turn each with a 50% chance when they attack together. Like Melissa’s third skill, I’d say that Zenobia’s third skill is meh. It would be far better if she were AoE or increased the harmful effects for two turns instead of one, but alas, that would mean that she would have to be a natural-five star because this is Com2uS.
Author’s Opinion – Like Melissa, I’m giving Zenobia a 5/10. I find it sad that the wind variants of the sisters are the worst of them, because they were the ones shown on the teaser picture we got for them so long ago. You should rune Zenobia with Fatal and Focus, so that she can do damage while applying her stuns at the same time.
Bailey (Light Boomerang Warrior)
Returning Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to decrease the Defense for 1 turn with a 50% chance. Attacks together with Chakram Dancer during her turn if she’s is included in the ally team. Anyone else remember
WKRP in Cincinnati? I ask this because one of the main characters is named Bailey.
Spirit Focus: Removes all harmful effects granted on yourself and increases your Attack Power for 2 turns. You instantly gain another turn after using the skill. Same second skill as before, nothing to see here.
Lightning Flash: Attacks all enemies to inflict damage that’s proportionate to your attack speed and increases your Attack Bar by 10% each when you land a Critical Hit. Chakram Dancer’s Attack Bar will increase by 20% each when her attack lands as a Critical Hit while they attack together. Ooh, nice third skill! I can definitely see people building a speedy Bailey with 100% Crit Rate now so that she can deal more damage and increase her attack bar.
Author’s Opinion – I’m giving Bailey a 7/10 because not only is she cute like her sister, but she also has a really neat third skill! I’d rune hr with Swift + Blade, and try to get her to 100% Crit Rate.
Martina (Dark Boomerang Warrior)
Returning Boomerang: Attacks the enemy to decrease the Defense for 1 turn with a 50% chance. Attacks together with Chakram Dancer during her turn if she’s is included in the ally team. You know what Martina’s name reminds me of? A martini. I’ve never had a martini before. I sometimes wonder how they taste to be honest.
Triple Strike: Attacks the enemy 3 times to decrease the Defense and Attack Power for 1 turn with a 50% chance each and disturbs the HP recovery. Same Triple Strike as before, nothing to write home to Mother about.
Absorb Shadow (Passive): Steals 1 of the beneficial effects granted on the enemy with every attack. The damage will be increased by 50% each up to 3 times whenever this effect occurs. The stolen beneficial effect(s) will also be granted on Chakram Dancer if she’s included in the ally team. [Automatic Effect] This. This is almost as good as a passive skill as Deva’s Golden Opportunity is. Granted, Martina’s skills are both single-target, but I can see people using her to strip buffs off of a certain pesky target; such as trying to get Invincibility off of a Katarina, not to mention that she’ll grant that invincibility onto herself (and a Chakram Dancer if they’re on the same time) too.
Author’s Opinion – I’m giving Martina a 7.5/10. I can definitely see people pairing Deva and Martina up together to wreck stuff in the Arena, with Deva’s ability to Ignore Defense (and make her sisters do so too) and Martina’s ability to steal beneficial effects and apply them to her and her sister.
That’s it for this two-parter first-look article! If and when I get a Boomerang Warrior or a Chakram Dancer (and they’ll be easier to get because they’re natural four-stars) I’ll definitely do an in-depth article about them. I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article.]]>
