What To Do With Dupes in Summoners War
We’ve all been there: you got a lightning and you’re waiting a few seconds to see 5 stars and get a Natural 5-Star monster! But then you realize you’ve already summoned this monster. You’re a bit disappointed, because it’s not a new monster. It’s a duplicate, in short from a dupe.
It’s worth noting that dupes aren’t necessarily a bad thing in Summoners War. There are ways to exchange them for something valuable or even keep them.
In this article, we’ll go over which dupes you can keep and what to do with useless ones.
Useless dupes
Most dupes are not particularly useful, because you only need these monsters once or the monster is not used at all in the current meta. An exception is Siege Battle. In this content it’s really common to keep specific dupes. We’ll go over which dupes are worth keeping below.
But what should you do with dupes that are really useless? It’s great that we can trade dupes in Summoners War. In your Crafting Building → Others, you’ll find the noble Ancient Crystals.
You can only get these crystals by exchanging dupes. The monsters will be deleted and transferred into 300 Ancient Crystals. All you have to do is select the dupes you want to food and click on “Craft.” You’ll also need Rift Dungeons materials and some Mana in order to craft the crystals. The good news is, that you can only feed monsters that are actually a dupe. You cannot accidentally feed new monsters.
Once you’ve crafted the Ancient Crystals you can move over to the selected Ancient Crystals Shop. There you can purchase some valuable items such as Light and Darkness Scroll, Mystical Scroll, Devilmon and more.
What items are going to have the biggest impact on your account and progress? We recommend to go for Reappraisal Stones and Devilmon which are also limited per month. These items will help you to get better in Summoners War and you’ll be always in need of Reapps and Devilmons.
Most of the Natural 5-Star monsters need skill ups before using them and you can craft better runes with Reappraisal Stones. Check out our Reappraisal Stone guide to know which runes you should reapp.
If you’re looking for Light and Dark monsters, which include the strongest monsters in the game, you can go for the Light and Darkness scroll. But keep in mind that there is a very low chance of getting Natural 5-Stars from the scrolls and even a lightning! It’s RNG after all, but with additional scrolls you have more chances to get something valuable out of the scrolls.
In our opinion you can ignore the other items. Sometimes it’s worth taking a look into the 6-Star Legend Runes and Gems/Grindstones. If you’re in need of a specific rune or Gem/Grindstone, you could also consider this with your Ancient Crystals. But compared to the above mentioned materials, you’ll get your runes and Gem/Grindstones mainly from farming.
Useful Dupes – Tier List
Let’s move on to the useful dupes. As we mentioned earlier, some monsters are really good to keep as dupes for Siege. In this content you can use a specific monster more than once for different attacks.
For RTA or the most PvE parts, you don’t need duplicate monsters to succeed. In RTA, you can’t even choose the same monster if the enemy has already picked it. There is one exception, though. If you want to have different builds and traps, you can do that. For instance, you can build a Sonia as a Leo trap in RTA. In Abyss Dungeons on the other hand, there’s no option to pick a monster twice. So, it doesn’t make any sense to keep many dupes for RTA and PvE content.
Which monsters are good to keep for Siege then? (keep in mind that this Tier List might change in the future, as the Siege meta changes)
Must keep
In Siege many Summoners are relying on safe offs. This includes offenses with Feng Yan, Aaliyah or Leo. If you have duplicates of these monsters you can go in twice or more and get your wins very easily.
Good to keep
These monsters are also really good in many offenses and can be used in various attacks. It might be a good idea to keep them, if you already have different teams with them.
Worth considering
These dupes are situational and depending on your preferred play style. If you’re a sniper and cleave player, monsters such as Cheongpong, Federica or Odin are good choices for dupes.
