Monster Spotlight: Teshar, the Wind Phoenix
This article is all about the Wind Phoenix: his skills, how to rune, and how to use him. More in-depth information and exact runes can be found in our YouTube Video:
We’re taking a closer look at the Wind Phoenix, Teshar, because:
– Teshar is primarily a damage dealer and has a particularly high base SPD of 114, which is impressive! Unfortunately we don’t need that much speed for the Giants Team, but it does make it easier for us to focus on the other stats.
– Not only does Teshar have a high base SPD, but he also has the highest base ATK in the entire game at 1098! So it’s very easy to rune him on ATK and he benefits from rune sets like Fatal.
– Additionally he brings a strong 33% Crit Rate Lead which only affects in Dungeons and is perfect for a Giants Speed team. All team members – including Teshar – will get 33% Crit Rate on top, so there’s no need to aim for 100% Crit Rate.
Teshar Skills
Let’s move on to his skills. While his 1st Skill is pretty standard – it does some damage and has the chance for a stun, his 2nd Skill does more damage the more HP the targeted enemy currently has which is especially good against mid boss and end boss. But the most important thing is his 3rd Passive Skill, which is called “Tempest”. It’s an AoE attack and if an enemy dies from it, the cooldown time resets, therefore if he is strong enough to kill enemies he can use this skill again and again, which is great for cleaning trash waves.
And last but not least, here’s why you should build him: he is the Giants Abyss Hard King, which is crucial for the speed team of 25-30 seconds!
You see, Teshar has a lot to offer in terms of benefits and good stats, which are exactly what we need for a Giants Abyss Hard Speed team. No wonder he was one of the most picked units in the past 10 Years Selective Nat 5 Event!
Giants Abyss Hard Team
But how do you build this team? Let’s get down to the Giants Abyss Hard Team:
This team is made up of Teshar (as Lead), Prilea, the Wind Harpy, Lyn, the Light Amazon (or you can use Luna, the Dark Pierret if you have her), Konamiya, the Water Garuda and Wind Homunculus.
The plan here is to clear the trash waves with Teshar as quickly as possible. Prilea comes first and can give us the first defense break. If the enemy is immune to stun, her defense break from the 3rd skill is guaranteed, which is very important against the mid and end boss. Then Teshar will safe kill an enemy and have his passive “Tempest” ready for the next round. Next up is Konamiya, who comes after Prilea and Teshar and gives Teshar another turn with an attack buff because he always uses his 2nd skill on the monster with the lowest attack bar.
With two turns and his passive skill up, Teshar should be able to clear the waves very easily.
For the mid and end boss, Teshar can’t take them out on his own and needs the damage from Wind Homunculus and Lyn/Luna. It doesn’t matter, which damage dealer moves after Teshar, but we suggest giving Wind Homunculus a bit more speed than Lyn or Luna, so they will use their 3rd skill more secure.
We’re using Wind Homunculus and Lyn/Luna because their skills are based on the enemy’s max HP. This makes the damage output very powerful, since the Giants Boss has a lot of HP.
How to build
Obviously, Teshar needs to deal a lot of damage. Therefore, you want to have him on as much Attack as possible, as well as on Crit Damage. For the Crit Rate however, you only need 67% because of his leader skill for dungeons – he gives the whole team 33% extra Crit Rate. Although he has the elemental advantage against water units, you still need to aim for 100% Crit Rate (including the leader skill), because the Crystals in the dungeon waves are elemental neutral, even if they are also blue as the Golems. Fatal runes are the best choice for him. The rune set effect of +35% is a great fit for his high base ATK.
The other damage dealers Wind Homunculus and Lyn/Luna should have also high Attack/Crit Damage runes, mostly on Rage or Fatal to deal enough damage on the boss. Unpack your best runes for them! If you have enough Fight runes with damage stats you can even boost your team with an additional ATK stat of +8% for the whole team.
It’d be great to have Prilea and Konamiya on full Fight runes to support our damage dealers in the most efficient way. You don’t need the best Fight runes for them. Just make sure the turn order is correct and they survive. It’s more important that you give your damage dealers the most effective damage runes you have, therefore this speed team requires really powerful runes.
Tip: if you give Prilea some attack, she will support the team with some more damage.
It’s worth noting, that Artifacts also boost your damage output. Stats like “Damage dealt on Water” and “Crit Damage Skill 2 or 3” can be pretty good, also for Lyn/Luna and Wind Homunculus “CD+ as less enemy HP” is very strong here because they’ll moving after Teshar and the Giants Boss have already lost some HP.
Keep in mind that your Wind Homunculus needs a specific skill tree for this team:
Summary
You need skill ups for the whole team. It’s recommended to invest some devilmons in your Wind Homunculus and your time/energy in Sigmarus fusions for Teshar skill ups to get the most damage and cooldown time for both monsters. The other monsters are 4-Star and 3-Star units and it’s pretty easy to skill them up.
We’ve put together a YouTube video that shows you the runes, artifacts, and optimal runs, so you can get started on your own Giants Abyss Hard team!
But Teshar is not only a Giants Killer, he can also be used as a fast AoE damage dealer in Aiden Forest (Scenario) for farming exp, in the Monster Subjugation for the Wind and Water waves or even against the Water Rift Beast and in Essence Dungeons.
Now you get the idea why Teshar is a really good and essential monster for PvE content in Summoners War and we hope that this guide helps you to build and use him!
