Monster Spotlight: Veromos, the Dark Ifrit

Welcome to our next Monster Spotlight. This time we’re taking a closer look at the fusion monster Veromos, the Dark Ifrit. As he’s a fusion monster, every summoner can use him completely free to play. You don’t need to summon scrolls for him.

All you have to do is follow the fusion recipe (you can find the info in-game or here). The fusion material just needs to be 5-stars and level 35, skill-ups are not needed. Once you’ve got everything ready, just head to the Fusion Hexagram on your island to perform the summoning and get your Dark Ifrit.

You can also find a German video with English Subtitles and runes on our Youtube Channel:

It’s definitely worth to make use of the fusion event for new players. You get all the materials you need for the fusion, so you don’t have to spend too much time and resources on it.

And he’s definitely worth the fusion! Veromos is such a strong monster with an impressive passive skill. In this article, we’ll show you why you should fuse and how to use him and which runes and artifacts have the most impact on him.

Let’s start by taking a look at his skills:

Veromos Skills

Leader Skill

First things first: his leader skill increases the HP by 33% to ally monsters in every content, which is a great addition and brings sustain to your team. His leader skill can be used in every content area in Summoners War.

First Skill

Next, his first skill “Mega Smash” has a 50% chance (with skill ups up to 75%) of inflicting continuous damage for 2 turns on the enemy. It’s a pretty decent skill to get more damage on the enemy through Dots. On top of that, the skill gets stronger in line with the attack speed.

Second Skill

His second skill, “Super Crush” is more interesting and more powerful. It’s an AoE attack on all enemies, and there’s a 40% chance (with skill ups up to 70%) to stun them. If the enemy is not stunned, he’ll reduce the Attack Bar by 50% with a 100% chance instead.

So, even if you don’t get the stun, you will get the Attack Bar reduced, which is pretty strong! Attack Bar reduce skills are really important, especially in PvP fights you want to limit the enemy’s movement and attacks. If you manage to stun all of your enemies, it’s an incredible defensive move that prevents them from attacking you.

Passive Skill

After his powerful second skill, the passive skill “Conversion of Magic” is following up. This skill makes Veromos a strong monster in many areas of Summoners War. His passive skill lets him remove harmful effects from all allies each turn, and it also lets them recover 5% of their HP for each harmful effect removed.

However, this doesn’t apply to inability effects like Stun, Sleep or Freeze. He can also cleanse Dots, Defense Breaks, Attack Breaks, Slows and other effects. For every harmful effect that remains on the ally after attacking, he gets an Attack Bar increase by 15%. So, it’s not uncommon for him to get another turn right after!

Where to use

Veromos is a great addition to the team, providing a lot of stability and sustain. He’s not only a tank or a bruiser, he’s also a great supporter for your team. He can cleanse debuffs from your team. The more there are, the better Veromos’ turn cycling becomes. In addition, he can control the enemies with his second skill. He’s a very versatile monster and can be used in many areas. Let’s see which content and teams work best with him!

PvE

Veromos is one the first fusions you should focus on if you’re a beginner. He’s a fantastic addition to your PvE teams and will help you progress in the game. He’s a great choice for early dungeons teams and even for safe Giants Abyss Hard and Dragons Abyss Hard teams. You can also use him in Trial of Ascension, Element Dungeons and Dimension Hole as well.

He cleanses the defense break and dots from your team in Giants and Dragons, which is crucial to survive the dungeon and make enough damage to the boss. If you already have speed teams in Giants and Dragons, you obviously don’t need to use Veromos anymore in your teams.

RTA

In the World Arena, he’s typically used as tanky counter pick against harmful effects. He works well with other tanky units that benefit from his 33% HP leader skill such as Gapsoo, Juno, Sagar or Velajuel.

With this kind of tank team, it’s really hard to get through and kill them, because units like Veromos or Gapsoo can cleanse harmful effects from the allies and heal them. Furthermore, Veromos can stun the whole enemy team, if there’s no immunity buffer in his/her team. You’ll need a lot of damage, like snipe combos, or enough control to kill Veromos or permanently stun him, since he can’t cleanse inability effects.

He’s definitely a pretty decent unit to pick!

Siege

Similar to RTA, Veromos can be used as a dark tank and cleanser in Siege. The most common team you can use in Siege is VeromosJunoCamilla/Chow.

All of them can cleanse themselves, heal the allies and have strong survivability. They’re extremely strong against defense teams that have a lot of harmful effect skills like Nora or Kiki. You might have seen this team in our Siege videos on Youtube.

How to build

Veromos’ best build is on Violent/Nemesis or Violent/Will for PvP content for additional and faster turns. His high base HP of 10710 and high base Def of 758 invites us to build him as a tank on SPD/HP/HP. It’s important to make sure you get enough defense, good SPD, and ACC for his first and second skill.

You can improve the accuracy in the artifacts and get some “damage taken from” Fire, Water, Wind or Light artifacts, depending on the Siege defenses or the teams you’re facing most in RTA.

In PvE, it’s not that important which rune sets he has, because his passive skill should lead your team to success. You can also build him on Violent with an Energy or Focus set.

If you want to use him as a damage dealer in the dungeons because of his second skill, which deals damage in proportion to the enemy’s max HP, the Rage set is better. In this case make sure to reach 100% Critical Rate to maximize you’re dealing.
